Analysis of the RRBs exam Held on 28th September 2013(8:30 AM) - Sergio Ramosh

Friends, here is the Analysis / Review of today's IBPS RRB Scale I Officers Exam shared by our friend Mr. Sergio Ramosh. Read his review in his own words....

The level of difficulty has come down. Most of the questions were easy to moderate. The duration for answering 200 objective questions was 150 minutes. For me, “Reasoning” was the easiest section. Two DI questions (1 Table and 1 Pie Chart) in QA were little bit time consuming but easy. The Verbal ability questions were also easy. The fill-in-the-blank questions required a correct understanding of logic in the sentences but words given as choices were not difficult. There was a passage on “Rural Electrification” which was the best part for me as I did a similar one in the mock test. Computer questions were very basic except a few moderate ones. It is highly possible that most of the students would have attempted all the questions. Overall, it was a good one. The cut-off, considering the difficulty level of the questions, is definitely going to be very high.

Spellings often Misspelled

Friends, thanks for the overwhelming response to our Tips for correct spellings. Some of our friends have asked us to include some tips to remember the spellings that are often misspelled / confuse. Most spelling errors are unintentional. The main problem with the spellings is, people remember the sound of the word in their mother tongue and try to write the spelling to that sound using their own English language skills. But as English is a tricky language, this technique leads to some typing errors. Some common typos are :
  • Omitting letters from a word
  • Adding extra letters
  • Transposing two letters in a word
  • Spacing words improperly
We can avoid these errors with some careful observation and practice. Here is the list of some misspelled / confused words. Just observe the common errors carefully, and learn the correct spellings prudently. We hope this observation helps you improving your spellings. All the Best :)

The candidates who clears the exam in all the three cadres have to face interviews as second hurdle. But unfortunately IBPS doesn't publish any rank list or waiting list of the candidates in any stage of the process. It means the candidates who are appearing in the exams even after clearing the interview are denied to get any information on number of candidates who have cleared the interview. Apart from this there is no provision get information on total number of candidates appearing in the exams, total number of candidates clearing the exams, total number of candidates appearing in the interview, total number of candidates who has cleared the interview etc. All efforts made to get access to get information in this regard failed as IBPS claims that it is not a Public Office.

Grammar is an integral and indispensable part of English (or any language, for that matter) and words / vocabulary are an integral part of grammar. And, when we talk of words, can spellings be far behind ? Identifying the wrong spellings is a part of the evaluation process, in the English section, in most competitive exams - bank PO and clerical exams, SSC, IB and other exams.
