Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Palestine on 9th February 2018.
During this visit, he will inaugurate Palestine Institute of Diplomacy, which has been set up with Indian assistance of ₹28.6 crore.

India and Pakistan have extended an agreement on linking the two countries through Munabao-Khokhrapar rail line till January 31, 2021.

On the eve of Republic Day, the Indian government today announced the Padma award winners for the year 2018. This year a total of 85 people from different fields are going to be honored with Padma Awards. Of these, 3 were Padma Vibhushan, 9 Padma Bhushan, and 73 Padma Shri. 16 awardees were either foreigners, PIOs, or NRIs, while three of the awards were conferred posthumously.
About Padma Awards :
Established in 1954, Padma awards are given in different fields and disciplines such as art, literature and education, sports, medicine, social work, science and engineering, public affairs, civil service, trade and industry. The highest award of honour is Padma Vibhushan, followed by Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.
This year, Music composer Illyaraja and Hindustani classical musician Ghulam Mustafa Khan have got the prestigious Padma Vivhushan Award.
