Reasoning : Analogy for Competitive Exams - Introduction

Analogy means correspondence. The analogy questions test the ability to see a relationship between two words or symbols and to apply this relationship to another set of words or symbols.

It is essentially a test of the ability to detect the exact nature of relationship. Many people, rather than examining the relationship, tend to use word association in their answer. One way to determine the best answer to an analogy question is to think of a word or phrase that links the first two words.
