Hello everyone, in our Lesson 43, we learnt about the prefix Mini, MinimumMini, Minimum represent the meanings small; least; shortToday we shall see the prefixes mis, miso. Happy Reading :)

Day 44 : Mis, Miso

  • mis, miso - bad(ly); hate
Let's try to understand this with some examples
  • misbehavior (noun) = improper conduct
    • mis - Prefix = improper
    • be - Prefix = throughtly, intensive
    • haviour (have) - Root = to own 
  • misogyny (noun) = hatred of women,
    • miso (misein) - Prefix = to hate
    • gyn (gune) - Root =  a woman
    • y - Suffix = the quality of
Let's have a look at some more words with mis, miso prefixes, for better understanding.
  • Misadventure - an accident; misfortune
  • Misalliance - an improper union; esp., an improper marriage
  • Misanthrope - a hater of mankind
  • Misappropriate - to use wrongly; esp., for one’s own benefit
  • Misbegotten - born out of wedlock; ill-born
  • Misbehavior - improper conduct
  • Miscalculate - to make an error in counting
  • Miscarriage - wrong handling; as, a miscarriage of justice
  • Miscast - to give an actor a role not suited to him
  • Mischief - an act which results in damage or injury
  • Misconception - an erroneous idea; wrong interpretation
  • Miscreant - an evil-doer; one who is vicious in behavior
  • Misgivings - doubt about the result
  • Misnomer - the wrong name
  • Misguide - to lead in the wrong direction
  • Misogynist - a hater of women
  • Misopedia - a morbid dislike of one’s own children
  • Misrepresent - to give a false impression of something
  • Mistrial - a trial of no effect because of some error in theproceedings
  • Misinterpretation - to form an understanding that is not correct of something that is said or done
  • Mischance - bad luck
  • Miscount - to count something wrongly
