2021 Wimbledon Championships Winners List

The 134th edition of Wimbledon Championships 2021 (Tennis) was recently held at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, UK during 28th June 2021 to 11th July 2021. An Indian origin boy Samir Banerjee has won the title in Boys' Singles category.  Here is the complete winners list.

Full List of National Sports Awardees 2020 (Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, Dronacharya, Arjuna Awards)

The Sports Ministry today announced the winners of National Sports Awards for the year 2020. These awards are given every year to recognize and reward excellence in sports. India's vice-captain and opening batsman Rohit Sharma will be receiving India's highest sporting honour Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award along with Vinesh Phogat (Asian Games gold medalist), Manika Batra (table tennis champion), Rani Rampal (India hockey women's captain) and Mariappan Thangavelu (Paralympic gold medalist).  Rohit had a sensational run in the year 2019 - where he became the first batsman ever to score five centuries in an ODI World Cup. Before Rohit, only 3 Indian cricketers - Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli have received this highest sporting honour. Rani Rampal, who will be honoring with Khel Ratna will be the 1st Women's Hockey player and only the 3rd player of hockey after Dhanraj Pillay and Sardar Singh to receive the award. These five sportspersons will receive a medallion, a certificate, and a cash prize of Rs 7.5 lakh.

Apart from these, 27 sportspersons will be conferred with Arjuna Award along with cricketer Ishant Sharma, women Cricketer Deepti Sharma, Archer Atanu Das and Shooter Manu Bhasker. 

These awards were finalized by a Selection Committee headed by Justice (Retd.) Mukundakam Sharma (former Judge of Supreme Court of India) and other members comprising of eminent sports persons, persons having experience in sports journalism and sports administration, etc. The awardees will receive their awards from the President Ramnath Kovind of India at a specially organized function through virtual mode from Rashtrapati Bhawan on 29th August, 2020 (National Sports Day). US Open (Tennis) 2019 Winners List

The 139th edition of the US Open Tennis Tournament was recently concluded at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, New York. The Grand Slam tournament was held during 26th August to 8th September 2019. World number two Rafael Nadal has won the Men's Singles title by defeating world number five and first-time Grand Slam finalist Daniil Medvedev of Russia. This is Nadal's 4th US Open Title.  He has now won 19 Grand Slam men's singles titles, just one fewer than Roger Federer's all-time record of 20 major titles. Jamie Murray (Britain) and Bethanie Mattek-Sands (USA) defeated top seeds New Zealand's Michael Venus and Taiwan's Chan Hao-ching to retain their US Open mixed doubles title.  The women's singles title has won by Bianca Andreescu of Canada. Wimbledon Championships 2019 (Tennis) Winners List

2019 French Open (Tennis) Winners List

The 2019 French Open Grand Slam Tennis tournament was recently held from 26th May to 9th June 2019 at Roland Garros Stadium, Paris, France. This is the 123rd edition of the French Open. 

World number two Rafael Nadal clinched his record-extending 12th French Open title in 15 years by defeating world number four Dominic Thiem in Men's Singles category. The 33-year-old has now won 18 Grand Slam titles, two fewer than world number three Roger Federer.

World number eight Ashleigh Barty has won her 1st Grand Slam title by defeating 19-year-old Czech Markéta Vondroušová in Women's singles category. The 23-year-old Australian has earlier played as a cricketer in women's Big Bash League in 2015 and 2016.

World number one women's doubles player Kristina Mladenovic, along with her Hungarian childhood friend Timea Babos, won the women's doubles title. Complete Winners List of 76th Italian Open (Tennis)

The Italian Open tennis tournament for the year 2019 was recently held during 13th to 19th May 2019 at the Foro Italico in Rome, Italy. It is the 76th edition of the Italian open. World number two Rafael Nadal has won the Men's singles title for the 9th time by defeating world number one Novak Djokovic. Nadal also broke a tie with Djokovic by claiming a record 34th ATP Masters 1000 title. For his victory, Nadal received 1,000 ATP Ranking points and earned ₹7.5 crore. Czech tennis player Karolina Pliskova won the Women's Singles title by defeating Johanna Konta. The win will take her to the world number two ranking. Malaysia Open (badminton) 2019 Winners List

The Malaysia Open, officially known as the CELCOM AXIATA Malaysia Open 2019 is an annual badminton tournament that has been held since 1937. It is now also known as the Malaysia Super Series. Chinese professional badminton player Lin Dan has won the Malaysian Open 2019 title in Men's Single category by defeating Chen Long of China. Women's singles title has won by Tai Tzu-ying of Taiwan.     Australian Open 2019 Winners List

    The 2019 Australian Open Grand Slam Tennis Tournament 2018 was held at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, during 14th to 27th January 2019. This is the 107th edition of Australian Open of all-time and 51st edition of the tournament in the Open Era. This is the 1st Grand Slam tournament of the year 2019.

    World number one Novak Djokovic won the title in Men's singles cateogry by defeating world number two Rafael Nadal. This is his record 7th win. This is the 3rd time that the 31-year-old Serbian has won three consecutive Grand Slams titles. Djokovic has now won 15 Grand Slam titles, third-most by a male tennis player.

    Japan's Naomi Osaka won the women's singles title by defeating Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic). With this, the 21-year-old became the 1st-ever Asian tennis player (male or female) to achieve the world number one singles' ranking. Osaka also became the youngest female world number one since Caroline Wozniacki (20) in 2010. 

    Former US Open women's singles winner Sam Stosur teamed up with Zhang Shuai to overcome defending champions Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic to claim the women's doubles title.

    India & Pakistan Jointly won Asian Champions Trophy 2018

    Arch-rivals India and Pakistan have been declared as joint winners of the 5th edition of Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2018 after the final was forfeited due to heavy rain in Oman's Muscat. Both India and Pakistan have won the tournament twice before this edition. India's Harmanpreet Singh finished the edition as the second-highest scorer with six goals. Malaysia finished at the 3rd place after defeating Japan in the penalty shootouts in the bronze medal match. Malaysia's Faizal Saari was the top scorer of the tournament with 8 Goals. Indonesia's Anthony Sinisuka has won the Men's Singles title by defeating Japan's Kento Momota. Spanish Shuttler Carolina Marin won the Women's singles title by defeating Chen Yufei of China.     National Sports Awards 2018 Winners List

    The government recently announced the winners list of National Sports Awards for the year 2018. Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu are going to receive the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award- India's highest sports honour. With this, Kohli will become the 3rd Indian cricketer to be honored with this prestegious award after Sachin Tendulkar (1997) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (2007).     2018 US Open (Tennis) Winners List

    The 138th edition of US Open Tennis tournament was held during 27th August 2018 to 9th September 2018 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. This is the 4th and final Grand Slam event of the year 2018. Former world number one Novak Djokovic defeated world number three Juan Martín del Potro to win the title in Men's singles category. This is his 3rd US Open title and overall 14th Grand Slam title. With this, Djokovic equalled Pete Sampras' haul of 14 Grand Slams. Further, he became the seventh man to win US Open singles title at least thrice in the Open Era. The women's singles title was won by the world number 19 Naomi Osaka by defeating her childhood idol and 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams. This is her maiden Grand slam title.     2018 Cincinnati Masters Winners List

    The Cincinnati Masters tennis tournament for the year 2018 was recently held at Lindner Family Tennis Center, Mason, Ohio, United States. This tournament is being sponsored by the Western & Southern Financial Group, so it also called as the Western & Southern Open. This is the oldest tennis tournament in the United States played in its original city. The 2018 edition is the 117th in Men's category and 90th in Women's category. World number six Novak Djokovic defeated world number two Roger Federer to win the Men's singles title. With this, he became the first man to claim all nine ATP Masters 1000 titles.
