My strategy to clear SBI Clerk 2020 - Ankul Pandey

Hello, my name is Ankul Pandey. I'm from Surat, Gujarat. I got selected in SBI clerk 2020. I used to read so many success stories from Gr8AmbitionZ, but never thought to share mine here. I'm very happy now. I'm going to share my success story with my fellow Gr8AmbitionZ banking aspirants.

I graduated B.E. with electrical engineering from Pacific School of Engineering, Surat in 2017. After the graduation I started my preparation with self study, as I thought that I can clear it on my own. But things not got well.

I appeared for IBPS clerk 2017, but could not qualify even prelims.

In 2018, I started again with the basics and appeared for SBI Clerk & IBPS po but couldn't qualify even prelims because of not giving mocks.

In 2019, I analysed my past 1 and half year, found that using much internet and social media frequently leads to my failure in all 3 exams & now I didn't want to make any strategy on my own. So I decided to join coaching class. In Feb 2019, I joined Mahendra coaching class & attend each and every class,
understood every topics, methods, tricks for 3 months. I used the strategies and planning that my mentors told me to do.
I appeared exams in 2019 that are followed-

  • FCI - pre cleared, not mains
  • SBI PO - not prelims clear
  • SBI Clerk - pre cleared, not mains
  • IBPS PO - pre cleared, not mains
  • IBPS Clerk - pre cleared, not mains
  • IBPS RRB PO - pre cleared, not mains
  • IBPS RRB Clerk - pre cleared, not mains
  • LIC Assistant - pre cleared, not mains
  • EPFO Assistant- not pre clear
  • LIC HFL - not pre clear

I was very depressed. Because I prepared for 7 months but could not qualify any mains exam.

In 2020, started again by giving prelims mocks & read newspaper daily. I appeared for RBI assistant - failed by 2 marks in prelims
I also appeared for SBI clerk this year and finally I cleared.

My Strategy

GA- I followed Ashish Gautam (Adda247) and gktoday daily. I revised from both of these at the end of week i.e., on Sunday. I followed Studyiq of at last 10 days before mains. Gr8AmbitionZ is also very good.
How - I Attended Ashish Gautam's YouTube class daily (sincerely) and make notes of only those options other than the correct answer.
Note- Read 4 months current affairs of each and every single news in the last revision before mains. In bank clerk exam, last 4 months ca are being asked.

English- Read the Hindu newspaper PDF daily. Initial you will find it boring as I was also weak in English but daily reading & consistent leads you to get excellent marks in English. I love to read this newspaper but you can read any newspaper as you like.

Quant-
For pre and mains both-
          Daily   Simplification -20
          Daily  Approximation -20
          Daily  Quadratic equations -20
          Daily   Number series -20
          Daily   Di - 5 set
                   and daily 1 mock

Practice daily, never miss any day, if you think today that you cannot solve today or you are too much tired of practice then you can practice minimum 10 questions of each above given topic.

Arithmetic in the last 10-15 days before prelims & mains.

Reasoning-
For pre- daily 7 puzzle & 7 seating arrangement and daily 1 mock.

For Mains- I watched 1 each video of coding decoding & distance direction in day 1 and similarly 1 each video of blood relation & in-output on next day(2). 10-12 videos of Alphanumeric series in last 10 days before mains only, because it is easy.
For mains puzzle, Everyone scares of that including me, bt I managed to solve only 3-4 puzzles in a week.

Note- Prepare all the 4 subjects daily, and be consistent on your study.

-To clear prelims, it hardly takes 30 days and I assure you it will not take more than 30 days if you practice daily. But it is important to note that, if you do not practice daily it will take more than 2 months to clear prelims.

To clear mains, it takes 45 days to prepare. But for the last 30 days before mains you must attempt 1 mock on an alternate days.

Advise to apirants - Stress does not help you. Fear pulls you back. I realised soon enough that not everything in life can be controlled & I never be afraid of failures just keep trying and feel free. So I would like to advise all the candidates to keep calm and confident and must prepare well and focus on their studies. Besides studies, candidates should eat healthy and sleep well. They should believe in their preparation and do the best. And this is the exact message I want to leave aspirants with wishing them the best of luck.

Success Story of IBPS PO IX - Abhisshek Arun

As the new notification of IBPS PO X has been released, I felt it necessary to share my success story as IBPS Probationary Officer as I genuinely feel it will inspire a lot of people , if someone like me can back from the dead , anyone can .

2016 - Happily married and working in a MNC with a good salary package . Sent to offshore for 6 months period. Life could not be any better with career progression and being married to the person whom I had loved for a good 8 years ( studied in same college, worked in same company as well  ) .

But who would have  known it would my change life forever . Fast forward 6 months , my marriage was in troubled waters and by mid 2017 , I was facing divorce with hefty compensations . This was such a shocking and traumatizing incident in my life it  left me numb , TOTALLY numb. I lost my working abilities , left my project , would spend days as a dead man . This continued for a good 2 months , and I was almost in the dumps when a mail from my brother finally woke me up .

Although I had seen success as an engineer , my passion and interest always lay in the finance domain - my brother s mail just reminded me that I am good enough and too  good to waste my life like this .

That one mail rekindled the spirit in me , and when everything looked gloomy , I saw opportunity in that harrowing time  .

As I was in bench , I started preparing for banking jobs on my own - failed to clear IBPS PO, realized I needed some direction . Joined one institute which helped me in honing my skills - I took up a project with night shifts as it helped me taking the classes at 8 in the morning , I would do my job from 9-4.30 , come back home by 6 and reach classes at 8 , during weekends I would put in a minimum of 14-16 hours as I had little time prepping on a daily basis .

One friend who stood through these dark times was Gr8ambitionz . The questions , interview experiences and numerous tips and tricks has helped a ton . Hats off to you guys for doing such a great work which not only is going to hep the candidates but also fashion so many stories across generations . Kudos .

Cleared SBI PO, confidence came back a bit , but failed to cut it in interviews. Cleared IBPS PO, NIACL( answered 175 questions , General Candidate ) - finally interview results came out and it was a huge sigh of relief to get selected .

I write about the power of trying, because I want to be okay with failing. I write about generosity because I battle selfishness. I write about joy because I know sorrow. I write about faith because I almost lost mine, and I know what it is to be broken and in need of redemption. I write about gratitude because I am thankful - for all of it.

Thank you Gr8ambitionz for being such a monumental pillar in the success I have achieved today , no words can express it . Take a bow .

Regards ,
Abhi

Think Positive and Win Positively

"A man is what he thinks about all day long".
Ralph Waldo Emerson
One of the greatest gifts to the man from the nature is his ability to think and this is what makes him different from others. Each individual is unique in his way because of his thinking. An individual's thought process is reflected in his personality which ultimately plays an important role in deciding the course of his life.

Optimism or positive thinking is all about being confident about the future or success of something. It is this positive thinking which opens the doors of success for an individual.

The person who is confident of achieving his goals will make sure to put in all the hard work in the requisite direction. It becomes difficult for the failures and hurdles to stop an optimistic person to achieve his goal. This is because each failure is a stepping stone of success for him.

Although life isn't a bed of roses, there is a way out of every labyrinth and an answer to every enigma. There is no such problem which can't be sorted out. At times, it may happen that a person finds himself stuck in a situation and is unable to figure out how to proceed. In such a situation, he needs to think and analyse carefully in order to find a way out. The journey of life isn't a smooth one. There are a number of speed breakers in the form of obstacles and hurdles at each stage of our life. But it is not that a few selected individuals have to face problems in life; everyone has to face their share of problems.

Motivational Story for 2020 Competitive Exam Aspirants : Must Read

The impact of COVID-19 has hit our country in multiple ways, and recruitment is no exception. Your plans to get into Govt job in coming 4-6 months may have gone out the window. I know a number of people, who are totally depressed and completely left their preparation. But guys, whatever situation you find yourself in, one thing’s for sure. How you respond to this unprecedented pandemic will define your future. The present situation may lead to delay in new recruitment notifications, but doesn't mean there will be NO notification in 2020. To keep you motivated, I would like to share a small motivational story which was shared by BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy.

Once, Lord Indra got upset with Farmers, he announced there will be no rain for 12 years & you won’t be able to produce crops.

Farmers begged for clemency from Lord Indra , who then said , Rain will be possible only if Lord Shiva plays his Damru. But he secretly requested Lord Shiva not to agree to these Farmers & when Farmers reached Lord Shiva he repeated the same thing that he will play Damru after 12 years.

Disappointed Farmers decided to wait till 12 years.

But one Farmer regularly was digging, treating & putting manure in the soil & sowing the seeds even with no crop emerging.

Other Farmers were making fun of that Farmer . After 3 years all Farmers asked that Farmer why are you wasting your time n energy when you know that rains will not come before 12 years.

He replied “I know that crop won’t come out but I’m doing it as a matter of “practice”. After 12 years I will forget the process of growing crops and working in the field so I must keep it doing so that I’m fit to produce the crop the moment there is rain after 12 years.”

Impressed by his argument Goddess Parvati praised his version before Lord Shiva & said “You may also forget playing the Damru after 12 years !”

The innocent Lord Shiva in his anxiety just tried to play the Damru, to check if he could….and hearing the sound of Damru immediately there was rain and the farmer who was regularly working in the field got his crop emerged immediately while others were disappointed.

It is the practice which keeps on making you perfect. Practice is the beautiful way to reach success despite of consequent failures.. Because you never know how close to success u are.

We become even diseased or old just because we don’t practice. Practice is the essence of quality survival.

So, let lockdown lift after 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years. Whatever trade or profession we are in, keep sharpening our skills, practice with what we have, upgrade our knowledge.Don’t wait for rain , that is the lock down to be lifted and then start something… focus on our skills today, upskill your self so that you are ready to meet the challanges.

Good luck guys. Wish to see you all in your dream jobs soon. Stay Home Stay Safe :)

Success Story - BOB PGDBF

Name : Anonymous

Selected Bank : Bank of Baroda (PGDBF)

Category : UR ( So called “UR”)

Age : 26

Phase 1:

This is my 7th Interview. And finally i made it. But the journey which i travelled and people whom i met made me to reach success.

Coming to my academics and small career, Passed out in 2013 (BTech-CSE-66% -16 backlogs ) its like a very big hurdle 2-1 all out (6subjects ) cleared in 2-2 again. 2-2 ( All out but at that time i was
busy clearing 2-1 backlogs) and the loop goes on for 4-1. Finally got certificate from so called JNTU-Kakinada. And from there after attending off campus for 10 interviews i made it into an IT MNC company in 11th interview . I joined there as Analyst in Bangalore (😘😘😍😍). Working there for 2 years I realised that this is not the place where i fit. “Resigned”
Its an absolute shocker for everyone. Bcoz i strugged to get job and resigned and a fear started in my family. So i started preparing for bank exams in 2016. From 2016-2017 September i cleared 3 interviews. From here it started a real journey.

Phase 2:

My parents asked directly that u r joining IT or not ? I said No because desperately i need a government job (bcoz i have seen that tension and job security and layoff).

That said “Get lost from my home”. I came out of my house with my certificates to Vijayawada.

“Money!!!” where is money to stay ? Started working in railway station irctc canteen. And took a room near railway station. Thanks to Google free wifi in railway station to study and watch “Gr8AmbitionZ” videos and practice there itself in railway station. By working there i cleared AIC IT officer, IBPS PO, Syndicate Manipal, BOB Manipal (7th interview).

Here a few lines i would like to mention in Telugu (“Guru job kottali ani thapana unnapudu neku ami gurthuku rakudadhu, vokati kavali antae yenno vodhulukovali, Voka 1 year annee vodhulu kuntae jeevithantham manam kavalsinavi cheskovachu. Kastalu unatay naku application ki dabbulu leni paristhithi, yekkada bojanalu peduthunnara ani vethukoni thine vadini, vinayaka chavithi vasthae inka featival ma lanti vallaki, andhariki kastalu untay chiru navvutho mundhuki vellithae ne adyna. Give up idhamani chala sarlu anukunna but teliyani thapana government job kottali ani).

So to all the people who are stuggling in Sreedhars CCE (Vijayawada ) in that heat waves, Nandyala aspirants, and people back of me who helped but couldn’t make it “Ravi Shankar”, “Sai Raghavulu”,”Sudheer”, who have immense talent but time is not on there side and to the aspirants all over our country “Before starting anything try to follow ‘Art of Choosing’ and ‘ Difference between ‘What I need and What I want ‘.

All the best to the aspirants.

I dont want to disclose my name because people will show pity on me, which i dont want.

All the Best to Everyone and i want to read success story of “You” in Gr8ambitionz.

Thanks,

*******

Failures are the Pillars of Success

"Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing."
Denis Waitley
On the journey of life, everyone have to struggle, face ups and downs. Obstacles and hardships are bound to be there in one's lives. But what is important is how we tackle them. It is the perception of an individual towards the same that defines the course of his life. It has been aptly remarked that "To be a champion, fight one more round". It is one's tireless pursuit that will lead him to success. Success and failure are the two facets of a coin. There are people who may give up or there are others who are ready to take the failure as a challenge. A brave person takes the failures as a challenge, to step up the ladder of success. Destiny also favours the brave.

It is our attitude towards the life that helps us to shape our destiny. Failures can be disheartening when one is unable to cope with the situation. At such times, one must remember that it is the cowards who run away from the situation.

It is seldom that a child can walk without tumbling or falling down. But these small failures do not deter his spirit. Slowly and gradually, he learns to stand on his feet and then walk It is because of the child's will power that he is able to stand upright. This gives us a lesson that we must try and try until we succeed.

Success is a culmination of hard work, dedication, and determination. It is not necessary that every effort bears fruit. But every step definitely gives us an experience and this experience is incomparable. Failures not only make us aware of our shortcomings but provide a learning lesson.

How to Overcome Competitive Exam Fear / Anxiety

Competitive Exams are often considered a ‘fear’ factor among aspirants. Many aspirants complain that they forgot everything they read as soon as they saw the exam paper due to anxiety. A certain amount of fear / anxiety prior to examination is a desirable spur to effort. But when the anxiety becomes excessive and is not channeled into productive work, it leads to a general inhibition of mental process. Every person writing competitive exams experiences some degree of anxiety or a bit of nervousness. This is normal and in fact necessary in order to be sufficiently motivated to perform. Competitive Exam anxiety refers to the intense nervousness which some students feel when they have to write a test / exam. Symptoms may include the following :

Before the exam : Insomnia, less (or increased) appetite, or inability to concentrate. Boredom may also be a symptom of anxiety. A surface lack of interest in a subject may cover a deep-seated anxiety about future performance. There may be mock indifference (don't care attitude), guilt, anger and depression.

During the exam : Confusion, panic, mental blocks, fainting. Think about the reasons for your anxiety and write them down. Consider each reason very rationally and objectively. Write down the worst that could possibly happen e.g. "If I felt embarrassed, then the worst that could happen is..." By spending some time analysing each cause of your concern, you will come to realise that in fact, there is nothing that can damage you permanently if you do happen to fail an exam. Lots of students have failed. It does not mean they give up. Many students who fail return with a vengeance and perform very well — they are the survivors in life ! They make a new plan when the chips are down.

Success Story of Raghav Kumar Choudhary

Hi friends, I am Raghav Kumar Choudhary, a first class commerce graduate in accounting& finance. Currently i'm pursuing M.Com through correspondent. I have an "O" level from National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology, New delhi.

Dear friends, After a series of continuous failures, i have been selected against vacancies of Unreserved category in CORPORATION BANK in Clerical cadre.  When i buy a magzine or visit online  educational websites, i prefer to read success stories first. I enjoy it a lot and get motivated. Whenever i used to read success stories, i used to think that when i will be able to share my own success story with you. Finally the day has come!

I am an above average student. I am writting bank exams since 2009, just after clearing my 12th. That time clerical criteria was 12th only.  Since i had no other dream except getting a ''Sarkari naukri", i wrote various exams during my graduation years(2009-2012)-like, Banks, SSC, Railways, Airforce, IB, etc without any serious preparation.  I failed each and every time. Although i don't remember how much time i got failures exactly, i'm giving you a glance of some of my failures because of complete lack of preparation.
  • SBI clerk(2011-12)- Rejected
  • Airforce group Y 2011- Cleared written, physical, interview but could not make it to final list.
  • SBI ASSOCIATES clerk(2012-13)- Rejected
  • IBPS 3- Rejected
  • IBPS PO4-Rejected in written
  • IBPS Clk4- Rejected
  • SBI(2014-15)- Rejected in written
  • FCI Assistant grade- Failed
  • Many SSC LDC, Steno, MTS- Failed
  • I wrote Group 'D' exam of railway once- Failed( Cutoff was above 90 outof 100)

Classes me bahut sare students the lekin mai satisfy nahi tha. Muze government  job chahiye tha.  Tab tak maine apna graduation arts faculty se complete kiya. Is saal tak sab log IAS, IPS, PO bante hai aur mai to ab start kar raha tha. Sbi exam me 50 % questions to solve hi nahi kiye the isliye result dekha hi nahi. Fir se padhai start ki , guidance to kisika nahi tha to formulae ya trick khud hi banata tha. Reasoning syllogism aur puzzle to pura din leke baithata tha. Kyonki ans kaise aaya ye samjata hi nahi tha. Family se support nahi tha to job chod bhi nahi sakta tha. Usi saal IBPS Clerk ke liye intrtview ko selection hua. Lekin finally out.

Name - MD.Intshamuddin

Qualification - MCA

From - Begusarai (Bihar)

Selected in - RRB officer scale 1 Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank

Dear friends,

It’s a long post as it’s really a long journey with lots of Ups and Downs, please don’t use harsh language in comments section for long post.

I started writing exams when I was doing my MCA from NIT Jamshedpur but I was not at all serious and was not preparing for exams with a proper strategy. There was a reason for not being serious as I got placed through on-campus and joined Infosys 4.6 years back. Things were going fine and in the mean time I met a girl during my training period in Infosys and became really close which was a biggest mistake of my life, I forgot everything about my career being in a relationship with her but after spending a whopping 2.5 years I came to know that this relationship is not going anywhere and I stopped talking to her completely and blocked her everywhere. It was really a difficult task for me to come out of that situation which took me around 3-4 months .Then my serious preparation started in Apr 2015, I started following gr8ambitionz daily, bought olive board mock tests unfortunately missed many exams by 0.25-2.5 marks range but I never lost hope, deep down I was knowing I am not at the bottom, I am in the zone which used to encourage me to continue my preparation. It’s never easy to prepare for any exams while working in a private/IT company but I had set my goal that I have to do something in life then I have to get a govt. job, working in IT sector was temporary for me as I was not enjoying my life.

Jack of all Master of some

No this is not my introduction .. this is the sentence which is prevalent these days .. for getting a job you have to follow this sentence.

Hello Friends My name is Saurabh (disqus: phoenix) and I’m from Patna Bihar

I have been selected as Officer scale 1 in Madhya Bihar Gramin Bank.

I would like to share my experience with you all.

Name : Saurabh Kumar

Qualification: B.A. HISTORY (HONS.)

In this world everyone has different opinion about success for me success is seeing a happy face of my family and friends and yes the final result of RRB CWE  on 10th of March made me feel that indeed this was the part of my success, seeing those tears rolling down from the eyes of family members made Goosebumps, I can’t share those moments by putting down in the text so I pray and hope that soon you guys ‘ll experience those moments by yourself.

Firstly I would like to say thanks to Gr8ambitionz and few other websites for providing the apt and updated materials to aspirants that helped them making their way towards earning a job.

Banking field is evolving day by day and for that reason it requires more catered manpower to serve so we have to polish ourselves.

I cleared my graduation in June 2014 and after that I started preparing for Govt jobs, I joined a coaching class for guidance but that thing didn’t helped much because of poor guidance by some faculty members and day by day changing pattern of banking exams.
