RBI launches Application for filing Complaints against Banks, NBFCs

To smoothen the grievance redressal process, the Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Shakti Kanta Das has launched a Complaint Management System (CMS). The Complaint Management System (CMS) is a software application for lodging complaints against all banking related organizations in India such as Commercial Banks, Urban Co-Operative Banks and NBFCs (Non-bank financial institutions) etc.

Keeping the convenience of the customers in mind, CMS has been designed to enable on-line filing of complaints. It will be available at the official website of the Reserve Bank of India (www.rbi.org.in) and can be accessible using Desktop or Mobile phones. With the help of this, Customers can lodge complaints against any regulated entity with public interface such as commercial banks, urban cooperative banks, Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs). Once lodged, the complaint would be directed to the appropriate office of the Ombudsman/Regional Office of the RBI.

CMS provides features such as acknowledgement through SMS/Email notification(s), status tracking through unique registration number, receipt of closure advises and filing of Appeals, where applicable.

The system provides facilities for generation of a diverse set of reports to monitor and manage grievances by the Regulated Entities. They can use the information from CMS for undertaking root cause analyses and initiating appropriate corrective action, if required.

The CMS also has facilities for RBI officials handling the complaints to track the progress of redressal. With the launch of CMS, the processing of complaints received in the offices of Banking Ombudsman (BO) and Consumer Education and Protection Cells (CEPCs) of RBI has been digitalized.

Why India needs it's Own Space Station ?

The Chairman of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), K Sivan, recently announced that India is planning to have it's own Space Station. With the help of this space station, India will conduct separate missions to study the Sun and Venus.  The proposed space station will be 15-20 tonnes in weight, will be used for microgravity tests, can host people for 15-20 days. The space station will be ready by 2030. With this, India will bcome the 4th country in the world to set up a Space Station. Other 3 countries are Russia, United States and China.

ISRO will begin working on its space station following Gaganyaan 2 (India's 1st manned mission to space) in 2022 —  just in time to commemorate 75 years of the country’s independence from Britain. The government has sanctioned Rs 10,000 crores ($1.5 billion) for the Gaganyaan mission. The plan for India’s own space station is a logical extension of Gaganyaan.

Many of us might think, what is the significance of this space station and why to waste so much money on it instead of spending that on social welfare. Before getting the answer, we need to know what a space station is. A space station is a spacecraft which revolves around the earth and provides a small habitable space for a few humans to live for a few days to carry out cutting edge scientific research in an environment that cannot be simulated on earth.

Having our own space station will help us in a number of ways. In communications, agriculture management, disaster management, land management, and national security and so on. Isro’s former chairman G Madhavan Nair said establishing a space station is a must for ‘keeping the leadership in the space arena’.

The space station will help to accelerate the development of reusable rockets, in-orbit docking systems, and manned missions.  It will also create new opportunities for other spacecraft to dock as well as allowing for cross-collaboration experiments between countries. This is important given that, after 2028 when the ISS likely to have been wound up, the only crewed space station is likely to be China’s. So by that time, it will be an advantage to India having it's own space station.

Now a days in almost every competitive exam, you will get at least one question about Brand Ambassadors. Before going into details, let's have a look at who is Brand Ambassador and why do Companies and Big Organizations appoint Brand Ambassadors.

      Who is Brand Ambassador ?

Simply we can say that the Brand Ambassador is a famous personality (actor, sports personality / celebrity), who is paid to endorse or promote a particular organization's products or services.

Why Brand Ambassador is very important for a company / organization ?

Assume that you made a new soap and want to sell it in market. You know that your soap is best when compared to other soaps which are available in market. But nobody believes you if you say the same, because nobody knows you. So, in order to increase the market of your soaps, you need to create a brand value for your soap. you go to a person who is famous among people to say a few good-words about your soap. His words will attract people and they will start using your soap. This process is called endorsement and the person becomes brand ambassador for your soaps.
