  • Privacy - the freedom to do things without other people watching you or knowing what you are doing
  • Verdict -  an official judgment made in a court
  • Unanimous - a unanimous decision, vote, agreement etc is one that everyone agrees with and supports
  • Restatement - an act of stating something again or differently, especially more clearly or convincingly
  • Occasionally -  sometimes, but not frequently or regularly
  • Grudgingly - done in an unwilling way
  • Inalienable -  an inalienable right cannot be taken away from you or given to someone else
  • Inherent -  an inherent quality is a basic or essential feature that gives something its character
  • Perverse - determined to behave in an unreasonable way, especially by doing the opposite of what is expected or wanted
  • Underpinning - an important basic part of something that allows it to succeed or continue to exist
  • Ineluctable - impossible to avoid
  • Facet - an aspect of something such as a situation or someone’s character
  • Dignity - respect that other people have for you or that you have for yourself
  • Amorphous - with no clear shape, design, or structure
  • Defy - to refuse to obey someone or something
  • Statutory - controlled by a law or statute
  • Elitist - supporting or based on a system in which a small group of people have a lot of advantages and keep the most power and influence
  • Fell by the wayside -  to not be successful or effective any longer
  • Outcome -  the final result of a process, meeting, activity etc
  • Democracy - a system of government in which people vote in elections to choose the people who will govern them
  • Implication - a possible effect or result
  • Sexual orientation - the state of having sexual relationships with people of one sex rather than the other
  • Upholding -  if a court of law upholds something such as a claim, it says that it is correct
  • Pertinent - relevant to something
  • Arbitrariness - the quality of being based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system
  • Profiling - the process of collecting and examining information about someone or something in order to get an accurate idea of what they are like
  • Compelling - interesting or exciting enough to keep your attention completely
  • Cautionary - warning someone that they should be careful
  • Jurisdiction - the right or power to make legal decisions
  • Cautious - careful to avoid problems or danger
  • Open-ended - an open-ended activity or situation does not have a planned ending, so it may develop in several ways
  • Breach - a failure to follow a law or rule
  • Verdict -  an official judgment made in a court
  • Revivify -  to give new energy to someone or something
  • Pit against - to make someone compete or fight against someone or something else
  • At loggerheads with someone - disagreeing very strongly with someone
  • Concern - a feeling of worry about something
  • Equitable - fair and reasonable because everyone is treated in the same way

  • Inequality - a situation in which people are not equal because some groups have more opportunities, power, money etc than others
  • Address - to give attention to or deal with a matter or problem
  • Disparity - a difference between things
  • Equitably - in a fair and impartial manner
  • Dominant - more important, powerful, or successful than the other people or things of the same type
  • Disproportionate - if something is disproportionate, it is bigger or smaller than it should be in comparison to something else
  • Creamy layer - a term used in Indian politics to refer to the relatively wealthier and better educated members of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) who are not eligible for government sponsored educational and professional benefit programs
  • Isolate -  to keep someone away from others
  • Well-off - rich, or having enough money to live well
  • Perceive - to understand or think about something in a particular way
  • Beneficiary - someone who gets an advantage from a situation
  • Detriment - harm caused to something as a result of something else
  • Differentiate - to see or show a difference between things
  • Backwardness - the state of having made less progress than is normal or expected.
  • Consistently - in every case or on every occasion
  • Uniformly - in a way that is the same in all cases and at all times
  • Ceiling -  an upper limit set on the number or amount of something
  • At cross-purposes -  if two people are at cross purposes, they think that they are talking about the same thing when in fact they are not
  • Subservient - considered less important than something else
  • Vote-bank - a large group of voters from a single community who always support a particular party or candidate in elections
  • Splinter - to break into small pieces
  • Evidently - easily seen or understood
  • Stratagem - a plan for achieving something or for tricking someone
  • Consolidation - the action or process of making something stronger or more solid
  • Deserving - worth helping
