Meet the new head of ICICI Bank - Sandeep Bakhshi

TThe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ICICI Bank, Chanda Kochhar has decided to go on leave till the independent inquiry into impropriety allegations against her is complete. She is accused of conflict of interest over loans issued to Videocon Group, whose promoter had business links with her husband Deepak Kochhar.

Meanwhile, the CEO of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Sandee Bakhshi has been appointed as the Wholetime Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of ICICI Bank. His tenure will start from today (19th June 2018) and will be for a period of 5 years. As a COO - a post that was created for him, he will be responsible for handling all businesses and corporate operations of the bank.

Note : N.S. Kannan, executive director at ICICI Bank, will replace Sandeep as CEO of ICICI Prudential. Bakhshi, however, will continue as an executive director at the insurer.
