  • Tibetan Uprising Day observed today (10th March)
    • This day commemorates the 1959 Tibetan uprising against the presence of the People's Republic of China in Tibet. 
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi left on a five-day visit to three island nations (Seychelles, Mauritius and Sri Lanka) today in an outreach that will see unveiling of development projects while boosting economic ties.
  • An Indian student's internship request was rejected by a professor in Germany citing rape problem in India, prompting a sharp reaction from the German envoy in Delhi who condemned it saying India was not a country of rapists.
National Affairs
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi today saluted the bravery of CISF personnel on the 46th Raising Day of the CISF.
    • CISF - Central Industrial Security Force
    • The CISF came into existence in 1969 to provide integrated security cover to public sector undertakings and now has a strength of around 1.4 lakh personnel.
  • Government to move nine amendments to the Land Acquisition Bill to ensure its passage in Parliament
    • The Amendments include hassle free mechanism for redreassal of grievances and mandatory employment for farm labourers affected by acquisition.
  • The CBI has served a notice to Trinamool Congress to submit a report on its income and expenditure for the year 2010 to 2014.
    • According to CBI sources, the investigating agency has asked the detailed report about income through various sources including advertisements, donations and by selling and painting of party supremo Ms. Mamata Banerjee.
  • Delhi, Kerala and Tamil Nadu are India’s best-ranked States in terms of gender-related education indicators, according to the new data from the Ministry of Human Resource Development and UNICEF.
    • Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, are among the worst performers.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has  launched Rotavirus vaccine Rotavac, developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech.

    • CMD of Bharat Biotech - Krishna Ella 
  • Pakistan has conducted a successful test launch of the Shaheen-III surface-to-surface ballistic missile, capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads to a range of 2,750 km.

  • Former Union minister and senior Congress leader M Veerappa Moily has been selected for the prestigious Saraswati Samman for 2014 for his famous Kannada poem 'Ramayana Mahanveshanam'.
    • Divided into five volumes, 'Ramayana Mahanveshanam' was first published in 2007 in Kannada. 
    • The poem has been translated into English, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
    • Instituted by the K K Birla Foundation in 1991, Saraswati Samman is given annually for an outstanding literary work in any Indian language mentioned in the Schedule VIII of the Constitution. 
      • This award carries a cash purse of Rs 10 lakh, a citation and a plaque.
  • Kerala Tourism’s popular Global Multimedia Campaign to promote the backwaters has won the Golden Gate award at the Internationale Tourismus-Borse Berlin named ITB-Berlin – 2015, the world’s leading travel trade event.

    yeah when i went to APGVB interview officer scale 2 people are discussing this issue with one of the board panel members so we came to know about this..but am not so sure may be it will happen and atleast take some years

    I want to join this bank, they don't care about locality of study certificates, only thing they want is my written+interview score must be in top 25, I have Telugu in 10th class, and more importantly I am willing to work in this bank.
    I think they cannot reject me. Only thing they can do is to give 30 or less marks out of 100 in interview.

    I have a query, my mom's name in ibps form and in 12 th certificate are different, but at time of interview they did not question me about this,I had an affidavit too, but my question us do it will effect anything in allotment time ?

    Yes, they have only mentioned that the "NAME OF THE CANDIDATE", should match letter by letter in the application form, the ID proof given and the concerned certificates.

    Those who passed with Cut off + 3, they need 17.8/20 in interview.

    Those who passed with cut off + 6, they need 16.6/20 in interview.

    Those who passed with Cut off + 9, they need 15.4/20 in interview.

    Those who passed with Cut off +12, they need 14.2/20 in interview.

    Those who passed with Cut off +15, they need 13/20 in interview.

    Those who passed with cut off +18, they need 11.8/20 in interview.

    Those who passed with Cut off +21, they need 10.6/20 in interview.
