Meet the 1st Female President of New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) - Stacey Cunningham

The world's largest stock exchange, New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has appointed Chief Operating Officer Stacey Cunningham as its new President. With this, Cunningham will become the first female leader in the history of the 226-year-old exchange.

Stacey Cunningham, who will become the 67th president of NYSE is going to replace Thomas Farley, who came to the NYSE in November 2013. Farley will take up a new role as the head of Far Point, a new special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC), backed by Daniel Loeb’s hedge-fund firm Third Point LLC.

Cunningham first started at the NYSE as an intern in 1994. She became NYSE’s chief operating officer in June 2015 and managed the company’s cash equities markets, relationship management, product management, and NYSE governance services.
