SBI Clerks Interview Experience of 12/12/2014

Hi friends,

I am Srinivas Mujumdar from Karnataka. I had my SBI Clerk Interview on 12/12/14. So I would like to share my experience with you. Hope it would be helpful to those who are yet to attend.

Venue : STATE BANK LEARNING CENTER, DHARWAD, KARNATAKA

Time : 9 A.M

Panel: 1

I reached the venue 15 mins before itself and they started document verification soon. THEY ARE CHECKING EACH AND EVERY MARKS CARD IN DETAIL WITH ATTESTED ON ALL. so be careful. As I was 5th in list, so i was called for interview around 11 a.m. There were total 4 members (3 M and 1 F) and 1 was from head office and he was wearing blazer and tie i.e may be GM.

I entered room and greeted everyone specially madam and they told me to take seat. I said thanks and took seat. Now below is conversion and interview which i experienced.


M1(Head): In which language you want us to take interview.?

Me: Sir As your wish, I know all 3 languages(English, Hindi, Kannada).

M1: OK. why you want to switch from IT background to Banking sector?

(as I have 2.5 years of IT experience, so Got this question)

Me: Sir, Firstly there is no job security in private companies as it will be always fluctuation in IT market. So there is no security when we think of next 5 to 10 years. and 2nd point is, I want to serve the common people and society.

M1: OK. But even in bank also now a days don't require more people as almost all works are done using computers.?

Me: yes i agree sir, but at least for the operation of PC and attending customers, human interaction is required.

M1: OK. if suppose bank hires only 50 specialized people instead of 200 people so that minimum manpower and maximum work is done. what do you say now?

Me: OK sir, if that is  the case then I will be 1 among those 50 candidates as i have that confidence of doing work fast and efficiently .

(after listening this, all smiled and i guess they got impressed)

M1: Good. what is MICR?

Me: Explained.

M1: what is micron and its value?

Me: Explained..

M1: what is Bio metrics, Retina scan?
Me: Explained..

M1: what can be new securities in ATM to avoid fraud cases?

Me: Explained..

(Now M1 went out for 2 mins, others started asking Qs)

M2: Tell me your education qualification and colleges where you studied. tell me in kannada?

(as I am from karnataka, so they checked local language)
ME: Explained..

M2: what are the main headlines of today's news papers ( In kannada)?

Me: Explained in detail like whole newspaper. ( He smiled)

M2: Yesterday International Yoga day announced to be celebrated worldwide. on which date it is?

Me: Answered with extra details about that.

M2: Who is chairman of Planning Commission?

Me: Answered..

M3(Lady): who is Vijay Mallya ?

Me: Explained but bit in detail i told. There I used 1 word about 'wilful defaulter'.

(Now suddenly M4 asked)

M4: what is wilful defaulter means?

Me: Explained.

M4. OK. what is actually Wilful means ?

Me: I am sorry sir..

They said  me thank you and interview over.

I said " Thank you all for providing me this opportunity and its my pleasure meeting you all"

when i was opening door , that moment M1(Head) suddenly said " Wish you happy new year in advance.!"

I said thanks sir and same to you all sirs and madam as well.

This was it. I answered almost all Qs. I am satisifed. Be bold and confident on your words. 'PREPARE FOR THE WORST, YOU WILL GET THE BEST'.
