Shortcut Memory Technique to remember Lists in Current Affairs

Friends, as a number of our readers have been facing problems in remembering the Current Affairs and Banking Awareness topics, we've decided to post some useful Memory Techniques. As an initiative for that, today we shall discuss about a simple technique which helps you to remember lists. Before going into details, let's take a small test. Read the given list of twenty objects just once-you can take about two minutes to do so. then try to write them, without looking at this page, of course, in exactly the same order in which they appear here. When scoring yourself, remember that if you leave out a word, that will make the remaining words incorrect, for they will be out of sequence. I will remind you later. Give yourself 5 points for each correct one.

I want to show you now, that you can start, immediately, to remember as you've never remembered before. I don't believe that anyone with an untrained memory can possibly remember TWENTY unassociated items, in sequence, after hearing or seeing them only once. Even though you don't believe it either, you will accomplish just that if you read and study this post. Before going into actual memorizing, I must explain that your trained memory will be based almost entirely on mental pictures or images. These mental pictures will be easily recalled if they are made as ridiculous as you can possibly make them. Here are the TWENTY items that you will be able to memorize in a sequence in a surprisingly short time.

Mental Picture :

Visualize a Golden Pen which is as big as a 10 Storied building standing on a red color Apartment. This apartment all of a sudden converts into an oxford book and it was dancing with the red colored Helmet  and is blasted and a big Cooler  appeared from the blast and it fell on a Tiger. You are watching this on T.V and suddenly the tiger came out of the T.V onto your bed & you immediately jumped towards your study table  and picked up your mobile to call your Friends. But suddenly your mobile changed into a Pulsar Bike  & you are driving it. Suddenly you met with an accident with a doctor. Immediately, the doctor became a Wild Lion and entered into the Infosys  office and switched all Computers and started video chat with Obama. Obama threw a silver Chair at Laden and Laden turned it into a Mirror which is dancing at the top of Eiffel Tower.

Ok ok. Now stop staring at me like that... I know the above story is completely stupid and makes no sense. BUT, before cursing me and closing this page, please try to recollect the names in the list in an order, by using my stupid story.

Unbelievable ?? Yes! But, as you can see, entirely plausible and possible. Why not try making your own list of objects and memorizing them in the way that you have just learned ? I realize, of course, that we have all been brought up to think logically and here I am telling you to make illogical or ridiculous pictures. I know that with some of you, this may be a bit of problem, in the beginning. You may have a little difficulty in making those ridiculous pictures.

However, after doing it for just a little while, the first picture that comes to mind would be a ridiculous or illogical one. Until THAT HAPPENS, memory and observation do go hand in hand. You cannot possibly remember anything you do not observe; and it is extremely difficult to observe or remember anything that you do not want to remember, or that you are not interested in remembering. Anyways, this is the end of our first lesson in Memory Techniques. In our next post we shall discuss five simple rules that help you to remember followed by another important technique called "Peg System". Happy Reading :)
