The 2014 Commonwealth Games (Officially the XX Commonwealth Games) were held in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23rd July to 3rd August 2014. This is the 20th edition of the Commonwealth Games. Important points you should know about Commonwealth Games 2014

  • The Commonwealth Games 2014 officially opened by the British Queen (Elizabeth II)
  • Famous cyclist Chris Hoy was Queen's baton runner in the Commonwealth Games 2014.
  • The motto of Commonwealth Games 2014 is People, Place, Passion
  • Commonwealth Games opening ceremony held at Celtic Park.
  • England finished top of the medal table for the first time since the 1986 Commonwealth Games, also held in Scotland.
  • Kiribati  (an island nation in the central tropical Pacific Ocean) also won its first ever medal at a Commonwealth Games, a Gold in the 105 kg men's weightlifting competition.
  • There are 71 participating nations at the 2014 Commonwealth Games with approximately 4,950 competing athlets, making it one of the largest Commonwealth Games staged to date. 
  • Mascot :
    • Clyde, an anthropomorphic thistle named after the river which flows through the centre of Glasgow, was the official mascot of the 2014 Commonwealth Games. 
    • The Mascot was designed by Beth Gilmour, who won a competiiton run by Glasgow 2014 for children to design the mascot.

  17. thnx a lot GA...bt I wana share one trick by which we cn solve the same very fast..
    as for 1st yr-3000*10/100=300 ,
    for 2nd yr- 3000*10/100(ie 300 we hv calculated) +
    (300*10/100)= 30,
    total CI=300+300+30=630
    (adding for both years )

Hi,,,i can able to feel ur pain...i lost my dad a year before...he did many things for us but i didnt do anuthing for him...missing him a lot...preparing for bank exam now is very difficult for me without his motivation...but still im working hard for the past one year for my mom and my younger brother, whom i have to take care in the place of my dad...

    Since interest works on C I as a successive percentage which is equal to a+b+a*b/100, this is for two years and here a and b both equal to 10%. so the equivalent interest we get is 21%. so now 21% of 3000= 600+30=630

    I completed my engg in 2009(80%) than worked as lecturer for 2 years than joined mtech(cgpa-9.1),I was always good in academics and was placed through campus but organization denied joining at the last moment so I prepared for ibps po-4 nd got in. now I am unable to find answer that can convince them that why bank after mtech?pls help
