General Awareness Section :
The questions were very easy. Glance through the GK of last 6 months and GK practice sets. Do this and you’ll be good to go.
Eg of questions asked:
- RBI controls liquidity through?
- Some question on Open Market operations and Money market instrument
- Governor of Kerala and recently appointed Deputy Governor of RBI?
- A question related to clearing of cheques
- Some announcement made by our President
Marketing and Computer :
Computer is not really my domain but the questions asked were very basic in nature, they made me smile, I was like, “Yayyy! I know this, I know this!”. Ditto for Marketing.
If it happens and I know it will that you read the question, its not familiar to you so people generally skip, but, in this section, go through the options, you might be able to answer! Also, there were more marketing questions as compared to computer.
** 40+ can be attempted **
English :
1) There were TWO comprehensions, one was on Economic Reforms 1991 and FDI.. I don’t remember the other one, I skipped it.
2) CLOZE TEST was easy and so were grammatical errors. Rearrangement was the simplest part of this paper.
3) Questions where four words are given and you have to choose nearly the same or opposite type.
EG :: 1) repeat 2) reverberate 3) retaliate 4) reciprocate
a. B-D
b. C-D
c. A-C
d. A-B
e. B-C
Ans: 2
[PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS MY EXAMPLE, IT WAS NOT ASKED IN THE EXAM]
4) Also, questions where there are TWO BLANK SPACES were asked.
On the whole, paper was simple and if you are good with English, you can solve at least 35+ questions without any issue.
Reasoning :
The level was moderate.
1) Circular arrangement question. There were 8 people and the cars that they drive were given. If you’ve practiced seatin arrangement well, this question won’t give you any pain.
2) The next where people sit in a straight line, some of them facin north and some south type question
[There was one more small case study which was very easy as compared to the other 2 mentioned above ]
3) Easy Equality and Inequality , syllogisms , course of action, cause and effect, inference type questions.
4) INPUT OUTPUT question was surprisingly easy! I did not attempt Data Sufficiency questions.
**Practice is a key to crack this section, if you’ve practiced well, Reasonin questions won’t come across as a headache, 30+ is do-able **
FINALLY
Data Interpretation !
Phew!
I found DI to be lengthy and tricky.
1) For the very first time I seen DI based on Compound and Simple Interest!
2) Mixed pie chart
3) Bar graphs, one of the bar graphs was so light, I could hardly see!
THIS SECTION WAS ONLY BASED ON DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION. NO DATA SUFFICIENCY, SPEED, PROBABILITY, PROFIT-LOSS ETC TYPE QUESTIONS.
Descriptive Test :
1) There were 3 letters out of which 2 were formal (bank correspondence) and the 3rd one was an informal one.
2) A small essay of 130 words.
i. Peaceful use of atomic something, I don’t remember whether it was energy or power :/
ii. A stitch in time saves nine.
iii. Dignity of Labour.
3) Comprehension based on Banking followed by 5 questions carryin 2 marks each. (easy)
4) Precis writing. (The passage emphasized on temperature, precipitation and how it affects primary industries and economy.)
5) Essay to be written in about 250 words.
i. Role of newspapers in influencing (society or youth), something like that :/
ii. Future of Banking industry
iii. Suggestions to alleviate unemployment problem.
If it so happens that the comprehension and one of the essays that you are supposed to write are based on the same topic (if you notice, the comprehension was based on banking and one of the essays was also future of banking industry), kindly don’t copy! Don’t use the comprehension as a reference to your essay. Write your own points, use your imagination and frame your own sentences. If you copy blatantly, there is a very high possibility of you losing marks.
Just one advice, don’t lose your composure at any point during the examination, especially Data Interpretation. Go through the questions first in DI, it will give you an idea about the pattern of questions, in that way, you’ll be in a position to prioritize as to what (pie chart, bar graph , table) to solve first.. glancing through the questions will not only give you a general idea about the difficulty level but it’ll also help you in knowing your comfort level i.e the questions that you know will consume less time.
Its all about time management when it comes to DI and Reasoning, so manage your time wisely! All the very best .

ReplyDeleteThe questions were lengthy and tricky, they weren’t straight-forward but solvable..There was a table based on the statistics of a cricket match, total number of runs scored by 7-8 players and the number of runs scored in 4s and 6s, they had given the formula to find out strike rate … There were 2-3 multiple bar graphs.. There was NO income, expenditure or profit type question but it wasn’t asked in the afternoon session yesterday doesn’t mean it won’t be asked in the upcoming exam sessions..
