The wait is finally over guys. The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the recruitment notification for the posts of Probationary Officers (POs) for the year 2014. The SBI is considered to be India's top banking organization. So obviously the SBI PO is the best banking job ever. There are 1837 posts in total. You can submit your applications in either Online or Offline Application formats from the SBI's official website https://www.sbi.co.in/. The exam will be held in June 2014 (Tentatively).       and 151 was secured by the last candidate who was called for interview(out of 250)...

      80 marks in objective section to qualify for descriptive & 20 marks to pass in descriptive section but total marks to qualify for interview was 151 for general category.

    Guys prepare for CGL.This sbi job is totally waste.You will be transferred frequently even in 2-3 months across india.You have to stay at bank till 8.00P.M even if there is no work.

    Many qualifiers didn't join last year.That's why SBI released vaccancy inside 1 yr.

      Dear friend

      there is no need to spend full day to prepare for both ssc & sbi po,,, if you prepare for sbi your reasoning nd english part for ssc will be prepared automatically. For math nd gk of ssc you have to spend extra 1 or 2 hr daily even you can prepare for math nd gk after appearing sbi exam as there would be about 1 month gap .

      Also if you are mentlly prepared to work for 12 hr and transfer there is no problem to join sbi as salary of sbi will be far better than ssc posts initially

      you are right there is no working hours for officers in any bank ..if u want 10am to 5pm job then surely clerical exams is the best way with home town postings..officers can't leave the office at 5,if they do so they will get firing from their managers..moreover this is not govt job ,just PSU .Never a po will be treated on par with similar scc post..

      Every1 talk about the salary & perks of Bank po, let me give u a reality check...After 6th pay commission the salary of Central govt staff were almost triple. So we can expect similar amount of hike in the 7th pay commission. ITI through CGL initially draws around 30 k......😌 So u urself calculate the salary after 7th pay commission which is due in 2016

    U can only appear in this but will not be able to crack because of less vacancy if anyone not get selection in po there was 20000 around vacancy than how in 1837

    Please don't Panic....but take care on SBI exams....

    Now the SBI only called for just 1837 vacancies, u should analyze the scenario:

    There may be more than 20 lakh applicants this year(last year it was more than 17.5 lakh applicants) ,objective paper in 200 marks(negative marks included(all are high level questions)),
    then those who pass the written should tackle descriptive one, and should get better marks on these both ( ALERT:A MERE CUT-OFF IS A VALUELESS ONE),
    Then tackle GD(nearly 6 times of proposed vacancies called for GD from Written + Descriptive), again INTERVIEW(nearly 3 or 4 times of proposed vacancies called for interview from GD)...........

    NOW WE HAVE ONLY 2.5 month ahead.......may be insurmountable........ for an average aspirant.

    AFTER all these only piece meal part of the heavy mass got selected...........

    If u see in the case of IBPS, they shortlisted 21000+ POs and 42000+Clerks this yr + 10 % for wait list
    from these 15 to 20 lakh aspirants.....In ibps those who shortlisted cud place in any of the 19 banks as per preference.....

    so SBI is good for better IBPS players......for the time being atleast.

    So one should take rigorous and ever improving practice (having more than 6 months)and keeping all the devils at bay, in all the subjects regarding banking cud tackle this at 1st chance.
    Because ur sincere hard work and practice is tested here.

    The reservation quota should be made according to the annual income of the family only which should only lead to fee exemption.but now quota is being given with respect to brains also.what's the correlation between someone's brain and being sc or st.?can't they study as general candidates do.?

    the scs and sts in some states have well aquird the status dat our national leaders hv aspired for..noe a review shuld b done to change dat cz nowadays..all d wealthy and prosperous class ppl are sts and scs and gen ones hv come down as dere is v.diff chance fr dem to get govt jobs..equality shuld again prevail..else dere wil b no diff betwenn d age old practices and modern day inequality

      We'll said friend.one more disgusting thing is that many minority reservation or quotas approved but none applied.only in few like scholarship in some states.an example of communal govt.
      Cabinet or ministries or parliament should be formed only with literate.without knowledge,education how can they develop a country when even they r not.illiteracy won't lead to good governance.we all know that.

    Last year cutoff was 151 for general out of 250.This time it will be 170 due to online test.
    Suppose you score 35 in descriptive paper.Then you have to score 135 in objective test.QA,RS are much easier than IBPS but GA,ENG are very difficult in SBI.
    Remember one thing if you clear written ,then you will be selected surely.

    SBI call qualifiers for interview in 1:2 basis.Almost all are alloted.
    So if you are called for interview,then you will be selected.
    SOo try to score more than 135 in objective paper.

    while applying I have give the date of passing mistakenly as 28-06-2014 instead of 28-06-2013.

    is there any any way possible to correct my mistake?
    will my application be rejected?pls does any1 knw?

      Simple U just leave that application.

      Make a new online application.

      It will be possible if u didn't pay the fee for application.

      If U r already paid the amount, then there is no provision to change the details entered by u.

      I think u didn't pay the amount.

      Keep try it.

      There will be a date on which the certificate was issued. You can mention that date.

    for what reason banks and all govt body jobs are distinguish between GEN and reserve application fish ..they charge 500/- from UR and only 100/- from reserved why???
    one is belong to UR than its really mistaken...how could one afford that much fee ..without any job..

    i am 2012 B.E. batch out student. i have 1 paper yet to be clear.I will clear this in May/June examination . As per the notification Graduation proof should be produced on 10.08.2014 if called for interview. So i will clear the B.E. exam before 10.8.2014 surely. So can i apply for SBI PO 2014 job?.

    The problem is difficulty in getting required cutt off for general s which is so high ....I cant believe 25 marks in ibps po are getting jobs and for general cutt off 61....so much difference are we 2nd class Hindus? .....what the crony reser is this.....rich bclasses using this ....and poor bclasses still din able to get the benefit......but only way for us is hardddddd work ...thats it no one listen us
