  • Mass - a large quantity or number
  • Amendment - a change made to a law or agreement
  • Recklessly - not thinking about the possible bad effects of your actions
  • Reinforce - to make an idea, belief, or feeling stronger
  • Ethnic - relating to a group of people who have the same culture and traditions
  • Fault line - a problem that may not be obvious and could cause something to fail
  • Protest - a strong complaint or disagreement
  • Adventurism - a way of managing a business, government, or the armed forces that is considered dangerous and might have negative results
  • Confer - to give something such as authority, a legal right, or an honour to someone
  • Persecute - to treat someone extremely badly, or to refuse them equal rights, especially because of their race, religion, or political beliefs
  • Migrant - someone who travels to another place or country in order to find work
  • Community - the people who live in an area
  • Contentious - causing disagreement between people or groups
  • Exclusion - a situation in which someone is deliberately prevented from being involved in an activity or from entering a place
  • Ploy - a way of tricking or confusing someone in order to get an advantage or to make them do what you want
  • Legitimise - to make something seem morally right or reasonable
  • Aftermath - the effects and results of something bad or important
  • Ethnic - relating to a group of people who have the same culture and traditions
  • Redraft - to write something again in order to make some changes
  • Assurance - a feeling or attitude of confidence
  • Solely - involving nothing except the person or thing mentioned
  • Densely - containing a lot of things or people close together
  • Impact - an effect, or an influence
  • Demographic - relating to populations
  • Succour - to help someone
  • Indigenous -  indigenous people lived in a place for a very long time before other people came to live there
  • Alliance - an arrangement between two or more people, groups, or countries by which they agree to work together to achieve something
  • Nativist - relating to nativism ( the idea that people who were born in a country are more important than people who have come to the country from somewhere else)
  • Blowback - negative reactions or results that were not intended, such as criticism, protest, or anger
  • Valley - a low area of land between mountains or hills, usually with a river flowing through it
  • Offset - to balance the effect of something, with the result that there is no advantage or disadvantage
  • Electorate - all the people who are allowed to vote in an election
  • Resurrect - to make something exist again, or to start to use something again after it has disappeared, been forgotten, or stopped being used
  • Clause - a part of a legal document or law that officially states that something must be done
  • Accord - a formal agreement between countries or groups
  • Stipulate - to say what is allowed or what is necessary
  • Safeguard - to protect something or someone from being harmed or having problems
  • Assuage - to make an unpleasant or painful feeling less severe
  • Merge - if two things merge, they combine or become mixed so that you can no longer tell the difference between them
  • Obligation - something that you must do for legal or moral reasons
  • Populace - the people who live in a particular country or area
  • Panel - a group of people who make decisions or judgments
  • Aid - to make it easier for someone to do something
  • Consensus - agreement among all the people involved
  • Summit - a meeting or series of meetings between leaders of two or more countries
  • Significant - very important
  • Distinct - separate and different in a way that is clear
  • Peninsula - a long piece of land that is mostly surrounded by water, but is joined at one end to a larger area of land
  • Thaw- to become more friendly
  • Culminate - to happen or exist as the final result of a process or situation
  • Coincide - to happen at the same time as something else
  • Resumption - the start of something again after a temporary stop
  • Negotiation - formal discussions in which people or groups try to reach an agreement, especially in a business or political situation
  • Delegation - a group of people who represent a country, government, or organization
  • Dialogue - a process in which two people or groups have discussions in order to solve problems
  • Dispute - a serious disagreement, especially one between groups of people that lasts for a long time
  • Sanction - an official order to stop communication, trade, etc with a country that has broken international law
  • Resonate - to produce an emotional effect on someone
  • Notwithstanding - despite something
  • Hurdle - of several problems that you must solve before you can do something successfully
  • Overlook - to fail to notice or do something
  • Denuclearisation - the process of removing nuclear weapons from a country or countries
  • Ambiguous - not clear and therefore capable of being understood in more than one way
  • Specifics- the details of something
  • Raise the stakes - to make a situation more urgent or more difficult to ignore
  • Diplomatic - relating to the profession or skill of preserving or creating friendly relationships between countries
  • Nicety - a way of behaving that people consider to be correct
  • Sound bite - a short comment by a politician or other famous person that is taken from a longer conversation or speech and broadcast alone because it is very interesting or effective
  • Address - to speak or write to someone
  • Sanction - an official order to stop communication, trade, etc with a country that has broken international law
  • Clout - the authority to make decisions, or the power to influence events
  • Despite - used for saying that something happens even though something else might have prevented it
  • Insist - to say very firmly that something must happen or must be done
  • Multilateral - involving three or more groups, especially the governments of three or more countries
  • Rapprochement - the development of greater understanding and friendship between two countries or groups after they have been unfriendly
  • Exemplify - to be a typical example of something
  • Demilitarise - to remove military forces from an area
  • Disarm - to take someone’s weapons so that they can no longer use them
  • Make headway - to make progress with something that you are trying to achieve
  • Elusive - difficult or impossible to achieve
  • Indication - a sign that something will happen, is true, or exists
  • Stalemate - a situation in which progress is impossible because the people or groups involved cannot agree
  • Tactical - tactical aircraft, missiles, and other weapons are designed to be used over short distances
  • Concession - something you give or allow to someone in order to reach an agreement
  • Hostile - behaving in a very unfriendly or threatening way towards someone
  • Posture - to do things only because you want people to notice you, admire you, or be afraid of you
  • Sustaine - continuing at the same level or rate for a long time
  • Respite - a short period of rest from having to deal with a difficult or unpleasant situation
  • Successive - coming or happening one after another in a series
  • Impatient - annoyed because something is not happening as quickly as you want or in the way you want
  • Stockpile - a large collection of things that may be needed
  • Anxious - worried because you think something bad might happen
