Today's SBI Clerks Interview Experience

Hi Friends,

I am Sivasankari. I had my SBI Clerk Interview today (9th December 2014) at Madurai in Tamilnadu. I would like to share my experience with you all.

Place : Madurai, Tamilnadu

Venue : SBI, Arasaradi Branch, SS Colony

Time : 9 AM

First of all,the staff there were very friendly and treated the candidates well.

I reached the venue by 8.30 AM.We were asked to sit in a waiting area according to our panel number.There they asked us to arrange the documents in following order.

Required Documents

1. 10/12 th marksheet

2. ID proof (This was not mentioned in call letter but they asked for it)

3. Degree consolidated marksheet (If not yet issued then sem-wise mark sheets)

4. Degree certificate

5. 2 Character certificates (1 from instituition(Conduct certificate) last studied and 1 from Gazetted officer)

6. OBC certificate(If any)

7. Medical certificate (If any)

8. Ex-servicemen discharge book (If any)

9. Bio-data form (1 original and 4 copies)

Please note that you have to fill up the form, take photocopies, paste the photos in all 5 forms and sign it across. Self attestation is sufficient for photo copies of above said documents. Only for identity certificate and character certificate gazetted officer sign is needed.

By 10.15 AM I was called for document verification. It hardly took 10 mins. After that I was asked to wait for my turn for interview.

At 12.05 PM, I was called in for interview.I asked permission to enter the room and wished them all. It was a small room and there were 5 panel members.One lady and 4 gentlemen. We were all seated so closely as if we were having GD :) Head of the panel was sitting opposite to me and he started the interview. There were no formal questions for me like tell me about yourself and all. Below are the questions of my interview as exactly as I remember.

Head: Have you prepared well for the interview?

Me: Yes sir

Head : So u are a science graduate in school..

Me : Yes sir

Head: Did you ask any person who has completed interview about the questions we asked?

Me: I told that I asked for what type of questions you were asking and got reply as from hobbies and general knowledge.

M4: Did you ask the exact questions we asked?

Me: No sir. I did not ask that.

Head: Have you been to banks before?

Me: Yes sir

Head: Tell me how a bank or any office should be so that you would be happy and satisfied

Me: Answered

Head: Will you be happy if you are asked to wait in a large queue for ur banking transactions?

Me:Answered

Head: Can a male handle a counter better or a female handle a counter in bank better?

Me: It does not depend on gender..It depends upon individual person

M2: What can we do to reduce queue in Banks? What can we do to make people do their bank transactions without visiting banks?

Me: Told about Mobile banking,Internet banking, ATMs etc

M2: What are the transactions we can do in these?

Me: Explained about Bill payments, statement, funds transfer, withdrawal, etc

M3: Who wrote Ponniyin selvan? (My hobby was reading tamil novels)

Me: Mr.Kalki

M3: Who will be signing 1 rupee notes?

Me: Answered

L1: Can we open a fixed deposit using internet banking without visiting bank?

Me: Answered

M4: What is the controversy of Ranjit Sinha case?

Me: Answered

Head: Showed me a pic of a man shouting his password and date of birth and asked me whether it is a happy situation

Me: Answered

Head: What will happen if he do that?

Me: Answered

Head: What is OTP?

Me: Answered

Finally head of the panel said thank you and shook my hands. I thanked everyone in the room and came out.Overall it was a nice interview and the panel members were very friendly. They encouraged me to answer well, gave ample time to think & answer and gave me clues if I miss a point and move on. Total time was 15 mins.
