Mangaluru based scheduled commercial banking institution, Karnataka Bank Limited has opened it's 1st ever digital branch in India at Nettakallappa Circle, Bengaluru. The digital branch also happens to be the 821st Branch of the Bank. Ramamohan Rao Belle, Director of the bank, inaugurated the branch in the presence of Mahabaleshwara MS, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank.

This digi branch is in line with transformation exercise currently pursued by the Bank to reposition the Bank as “Relevant and Significant Bank” by focussing on technology and by keeping intact its core values and identity. Besides providing paperless banking experience, the bank is aiming at providing an instant real time response for chosen services by the consumer thereby reducing turnaround time significantly. Some of the services covered through this branch include account opening, issue and activation of personalised debit card, internet banking, mobile banking, fund transfer within bank/NEFT/RTGS, cash transaction and so on.

The Bank has a history of being a leader in adopting latest advancements in the digital space to its various channels of banking. It is one of the earliest banks to adopt Core Banking Solution, way back in the year 2000. In August 2008, the bank introduced Quick Remit, a facility to make money transfer easy for Non-Resident Indians living in Canada, United States, and the UK. The bank also runs a 24-hour Internet banking service called Moneyclick.
