  • Dampening - to make something less strong
  • Abruptly - suddenly and unexpectedly
  • Predictable - if something is predictable, it happens in the way that you would expect
  • Significantly - in a way that is easy to see
  • Impaired - damaged or weakened

  • Palpable - so strong that you seem to feel it physically yourself

  • Forecasters - a person who tells you what particular conditions are expected to be like
  • Buoyed - to help a company, market, or economy to be more successful
  • Successive - coming or happening one after another in a series
  • Drought - a long period when there is little or no rain
  • Moot -  no longer important
  • Gauging - to make a judgment about something
  • Impact - an effect, or an influence
  • Likely - if something is likely, it will probably happen or is expected
  • Perspective - a particular way of considering something (point of view)
  • Disruption - a situation in which something cannot continue because of a problem
  • Farming - the activity or business of a being a farmer
  • Adequate - good enough or large enough for a particular purpose
  • Agrarian - relating to or involving farming or farmers
  • Contributor - someone or something that is one of the causes of a situation, event etc
  • Sustain - to cause or allow something to continue for a period of time
  • Sizeable - large
  • Transaction - the action or process of buying or selling something

  • Revive - to become active, successful, or popular again
  • Ensure - to make sure that something happens or is done
  • Protracted - continuing for a long time, especially longer than is normal or necessary
  • Slowdown - a period when there is less activity

  • Marred - spoiled
  • Uncertainty- a situation in which something is not known

  • Scandal - a situation in which important people behave in a dishonest or immoral way that shocks people
  • Abysmally - extremely bad or low in quality
  • Colleagues - people who work in the same organization or department as you
  • Primary - an election in which people in a particular state choose their candidate for president
  • Humiliating - making you feel very embarrassed and ashamed
  • Socialist - a supporter of socialism (all people are equal) or member of a socialist political party

  • Revive - to make something become, active, successful, or popular again

  • Agenda - a plan or aim
  • Rein in - to limit or control something that has developed too much or has continued for too long
  • Sack - to tell someone that they can no longer work at their job

  • Insurgent - someone who belongs to a group of people fighting to take control of their country by force

  • Mainstream - considered ordinary or normal and accepted or used by most people
  • Grass-roots - the ordinary people in a community, country, society, or organization rather than its leaders
  • Consolidating - to make the power, position, or achievements you already have stronger or more effective so that they are likely to continue
  • Rust belt - an area of a country where there is declining industry and a falling population
  • Protectionist - someone who supports helping a country's trade or industry by putting taxes on goods bought from other countries or by limiting the amount of goods that can be imported
  • Disarray - the state of being confused
  • Ruled out - to stop considering something as a possibility
