Topic 1 : "Right moves on the Soccer League"


  • Flutter - a condition of nervous excitement
  • Apt - appropriate or suitable
  • Vagary - an unexpected change in a situation
  • Quirkiness - an unpredictable act
  • Momentary - of very short time
  • Lapse - slip
  • Usavoury - unpleasant
  • Marred - damaged or spoilled
  • Fierce - physically ​violent and ​frightening
  • Flair - stylishness and originality
  • Zest - great enthusiasm and energy.
  • Watchword - a word or phrase expressing a person's or group's core aim or belief

  • Conceding - to admit defeat
  • Scepticism - a doubt that something is ​true or ​useful

  • Propel - to push something forwards
  • Aisle - a ​long, ​narrow ​space between ​rows of ​seats
  • Stringent - strict
  • Snuffing - to put an end in an abrupt or sudden manner
  • Bipartisan -  involving the agreement or cooperation of two political parties that usually oppose each other's policies
  • Coalitions -  a group of people who join together for a common cause
  • Bicameralism - having two parts
  • Inevitably - Unavoidably (Impossible to avoid or prevent)
