Hi friends, I am Abhiraj Singh Gogawat (Category – General) from Jaipur Rajasthan. First of all heartfelt thanks to entire Gr8Ambitionz team for doing exemplary work & also thanks to all of you friends who are maintaining the sanity of site by posting relevant comments & information only! Lot of you know me, especially the one who gave RICEM exam, it was great experience interacting with you guys.

I have done B.A.Eco hons with MBA in finance and have a work ex of 4 years in Asian Paints Ltd as senior sales officer. I tried IBPS PO last year also but was not able to clear maths cut off. This year I prepared well with proper planning with being in job and the result is I got Indian Overseas Bank in IBPS PO. Here I just want to share the strategy I employed and the books which I read, I hope it will be useful to you guys.

For IBPS PO:   I studied the following books:

Maths
  1. Fast Track Objective Arithmetic - Rajesh Verma
  2. Quantum CAT - Sk verma (good for clearing concepts & has higher level of problems good for SSC CGL also)
Reasoning:
  1. RS Aggarwal’s Modern Approach to verbal and non-verbal reasoning - S. Chand
  2. MK Pandey’s Analytical Reasoning (BSC publication)
English
  1. Objective general english - SP Bakshi
For General awareness & Computer: I relied on capsules provided by Gr8ambitionz.

I joined online test series of Mahindra’s (900 test in 500 Rs for 1 year). I gave every day one test without fail, so that accuracy and speed got increased. You should also join as per your choice; I joined this as it was cheaper. Try to give test regularly with exam type feel; it will help you a lot!!

Regarding Planning portion :
  1. Study daily without fail
  2. Read English newspaper (editorial for sure so that comprehension part is developed)
  3. Practice a lot
  4. Attempt a mock paper/test
  5. Assess weekly progress by comparing the marks scored last week in test .
  6. Try to increase speed by learning tables/percentages values.
  7. Memorize squares till 50, cubes till 10 and tables till 30 as this will be of immense help in DI.
My way of attempting exam :
First I attempt GA section then Computer and then English ( These three in 30-40 minutes ) After that I equally divide 80/90 minutes in Quant & Reasoning !!

My attempts & marks
  • RBI Assistant : attempted 162 result scored 142, not selected for Interview.
  • IBPS PO :  attempted 121 , Marks scored 101 , final result : Indian Overseas Bank as PO
  • IBPS Clerk :  attempted 178 , Marks scored 154, final result : Bank Of Baroda as clerk
  • SBI Associates PO :  attempted 151 , Final result : interview result awaited
  • Nabard : attempted 147 , result : Cleared prelims , Mains exam on 11/04/2015
  • RICEM Senior Manager :  attempted 117 , Marks scored 101
  • RICEM Manager : attempted 110 , Marks scored 90 .
*Not able to clear insurance exams till now but one day for sure I will:)

wish you all the fellow aspirants best of luck. May you all achieve what you aspire to be. Study well, prepare with plan, this time AIM FOR THE GLORY!!!
