• Fourth Finance commission - P V Rajamannar (1966 - 1969)
• Fifth Finance commission - Mahaveer Thyagi (1969 - 1974)
• Sixth Finance commission - K Brahmananda Reddy (1974 - 1979)
• Seventh Finance commission - J M Shelat (1979 - 1984)
• Eighth Finance commission - Y B Chavan (1984 - 1989)
• Ninth Finance commission - N K P Slave (1989 - 1995)
• Tenth Finance commission - K C Pant (1995 - 2000)
• Eleventh Finance commission - A M Khusro (2000 - 2005)
• Twelfth Finance commission - C Rangarajan (2005-2010)

Important Points to Note : 

• Finance commission is appointed every five years and it consists of one chairman and four other members. 
• The current Finance commission chairman is Dr Y V Reddy.
• The members of the 14th Finance Commission are Dr M Govindha Rao , Sushma Nath , Prof Abhijit Sen , Dr Sudipto Mundle. 
• The seceretary of the 14th Finance commission is Ajay Narayan Jha.
• Headquarters - New Delhi.
