International Affairs
  • India and Nepal today began 8th 'Surya Kiran' exercise, a battalion-level combined military training exercise in Kathmandu, focusing on counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in the mountainous and jungle terrain.
    • The Nepalese contingent was represented by a battalion from an Infantry Division of Nepalese Army.
    • The Indian side was represented by an equivalent strength from a Mountain Brigade.
    • The focus of the ongoing exercise is to carry out counter-insurgency and counter-terrorist operations in the mountainous and jungle terrain and to practice facets of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, including actions to be taken during pandemic, epidemic and various other humanitarian assistance situations.
National Affairs
  • Budget Session of Parliament begins today with President Pranab Mukherjee's address to both Houses.
    • The budget session contains 44 items of financial, legislative and non-legislative business. 
    • The bills replacing ordinances on raising the foreign investment limit in insurance, auctioning coal mines and changing the rules of land acquisition are some of the important legislations scheduled to be tabled during the session.
    • The Juvenile Justice (Care and protection of Children) Bill, The Labour Code on Wages Bill , The small factories (regulation of employment and condition of services) Bill, and The Labour Code on Industrial Relations Bill are also likely to come up during the session.
    • Government seeks cooperation from opposition for smooth functioning of the session.
  • Social activist Anna Hazare starts his two day long agitation in Delhi against the Land acquisition Ordinance
    • Ordinance on Land Acquisition is anti farmer which the Government has brought to cater to industrialists, he said. 
    • Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will participate in the protest along with social activist Anna Hazare at Jantar Mantar tomorrow.
  • Public sector banks, including the country's biggest lender State Bank of India, will remain shut on alternate Saturdays, according to a deal reached between employee unions and the Indian Banks' Association, which represents lenders.
    • An agreement was also reached to hike wages of over 7 lakh public sector bank employees by 15 per cent
    • The wage hike will be applicable from November 2012 and will be valid for five years (Check complete details from here).
  • Himachal Pradesh is set to become the country's first state to present a 'paperless' budget on March 11. 
    • Since the state already has the country's first green assembly, all documents related to budget estimates would be made available online and only around 10 budget copies would be printed for record.

  • Honda Motor has announced its new president and CEO, Takahiro Hachigo
    • He is currently the company’s managing officer, he will take over the role which is being held by Takanobu Ito effective late June 2015.
  • AAP MLA Ram Niwas Goel was unanimously elected Speaker of the Delhi Assembly on the first day of the two-day session of the House.
    • Another ruling party legislator, Bandana Kumari, was elected Deputy Speaker of the House where the main and only opposition, BJP, has a negligible presence with just three legislators.
Business & Economy
  • Private power utility Tata Power today announced signing an initial agreement with Russia's largest coal producer Siberian Coal Energy Company for tapping opportunities in the energy sector.
    • The organization has announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) to identify and evaluate opportunities in energy sector in Russia.
    • As part of the agreement, both Tata Power and SUEK will cooperate on identifying and targeting opportunities in the energy sector in Russia and other geographies of common interest in order to develop mutually beneficial transactions.

      step2).multiply within d digit i.e 1*1=1,5 3 9 -4
      step3).square d digits 1^2=1, 25 9 81 16
      step 4)subtract input -third step i.e 258-1=257,318 644 28 266
      step5)subtract step 1- step 2 i.e is 11-1=10 ,0 10 0 0
