International Affairs
  • India formally submitted an application for full membership to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) at the SCO Heads of State Summit in Tajikistan capital Dushanbe.
    • Pakistan and Iran have already submitted their applications to join it. 
    • Our country has a very good chance of being inducted into Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) along with Pakistan, a development which will strengthen anti- terrorism campaign in the region.
    • Other members of SCO : Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan
    • Observers : Afghanistan, India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan
    • Dialogue partners : Belarus, Turkey and Sri Lanka
  • Connie Hedegaard, Commissioner for Climate Action, European Commission stated that the world should look to a new climate treaty which is binding but also reflect the ground realities. The  new treaty could have a differentiated approach to different emerging economies, he added. 
  • In an exceptional departure from tradition, Prime Minister Modi will greet visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping not in Delhi, but in Ahmedabad when he arrives on 17th September 2014.
    • Mr. Xi is keen on a visit to Gujarat, where he is expected to witness the signing of several MoUs in business and infrastructural investment.
  • World First-Aid Day  observed today (13th September 2014) to raise awareness on how first aid can save lives during crisis.
National Affairs
  • After a gap of 18 years, BJP’s student wing Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad today swept Delhi University students’ union elections, trouncing Congress’ NSUI to bag all four positions and credited the triumph to “Modi wave”. 
  • Union Minister of Communications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad today gave an account of how the communication system, which was badly affected in the flood ravaged state of Jammu and Kashmir, was slowly getting restored.
    • Out of 12,306 BTAs (Base Trans-receiver Station), 6000 had submerged, 1208 have been restored
    • Intra-circle roaming has been permitted for 15 days
    • Government allows free talk time to people on BSNL in Kashmir (for 1 week), users of private operators 60 minutes per day.
    • Many companies have provided free SIM cards also
  • Over 87 Percent Polling Recorded in Tripura Bye-election.
  • Nearly 70 percent polling recorded in bye-election for three seats of Assam Assembly.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an appeal to all Indians to donate generously to the PM's National Relief Fund for the flood-affected people in Jammu and Kashmir.

  5. Good attempt 👍👍 but you also have to prepare for GA. Jst write down the daily currents affiars its hardly 4-5 key points each day to remember. Each day spare 10 mins and write down the daily currents affairs.try to write the whole about the event as questions was asked about who commissioned the INS kamotra ?
    Write little but cover the whole story. Try to revise wriiten current affairs after ten days, these points will never fade from your memory.

  7. hi guys i am from kerala i had my exam on 13th morning session. i attempted 166 in total with 90 per accuracy. ga was the easiest session i guess and thanks to greatambitionz for your wonderful guidance. i felt english a bit tougher than other exams and maths was moderate. best of luck for all those who are appearing for the upcoming rrb exams.
