National Affairs 
  • The Telangana government has dismissed the suggestions of the home ministry to form a joint force comprising police of the new state and residuary Andhra Pradesh to control the law and order in Hyderabad and set up a special cell to deal with hate crimes there.

  • Afghanistan's two presidential rivals Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah agreed to a historic deal to audit all eight million votes cast in the disputed election after two days of intense shuttle diplomacy by top US diplomat John Kerry.
Sports
  • The Indian men`s hockey team led by midfielder Sardar Singh left for Glasgow today  morning for the upcoming Commonwealth Games to be held from 23rd July to 3rd August 2014. 
  • Argentina and Germany are competing for FIFA World Cup 2014 finals which is going to start 12:30 AM tonight.
