Friends, its time to start our preparation for upcoming RBI Assistants Online Exam. From the date of notification, people have been asking us to post Study Materials for this exam. Before going to update them we just want to discuss how to prepare and what to prepare for this exam. Before going into details have a look at the official notification here so that you will get a brief idea on the outline of the syllabus and exam pattern. Now lets see what is the syllabus of this exam.

Syllabus of RBI Assistants / Clerks Online Exam 2014

As all the remaining bank exams there will be 5 sections. Every section consists of 40 questions of 40 Marks. The total paper is of 200 marks and you should complete it in 2 Hours.

  • Numerical Ability
  • Reasoning
  • English Language
  • Computer Knowledge
  • General Awareness

What to Prepare and How to Prepare ?

As we have already said, the syllabus of RBI Assistants exam is also same as any other bank clerical exam. But the difference is with the difficulty level. The pattern of the exam will be almost similar to the IBPS Clerical exam and the difficulty level of the exam will be equal to the Clerks exam of SBI. Now lets have a detailed look at sectional wise topics.

Numerical Ability : Simplification, Roots, HCF and LCM, Average, Surds & Indices, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Number Series, Ratio & Proportion, Partnership, Chain Rule, Time & Work, Pipes & Cisterns, Time & Distance, Problems on Trains, Boats & Streams, Alligation, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Mensuration, Volume & Surface Area, Permutation & combination, Probability, Heights & Distances.

Note : For RBI Assistants exam they are not asking questions from Data Interpretation. Maximum questions (20 Marks) will be from Simplifications. So concentrate more on fast calculations.

Reasoning :For reasoning section concentrate on Verbal Reasoning. You have to cover the topics Alphabet Test, Number Series Test, Odd  Man Out,  Analogy, Arrangement, Coding and Decoding, Blood Relation,  Distance and Direction, Calendar, Symbol and Notation, Sitting Arrangement, Series Completion, Syllogism, Decision Making,  Statement and  Conclusion and Data Sufficiency in this section.

Note : Non Verbal Reasoning is also there in syllabus. But from last few years they are not asking any question from this area.

English Language : You should concentrate on areas like Passage Comprehension, Common Errors,  Sentence Improvement, Fill in the blanks, Close Test , Paragraph Rearrangement and Antonyms and Synonyms.

Computer Knowledge : Frankly speaking, they wont expect you to be experts in Computers. If you are reading this post then trust us you easily can score 15 out of 40 from this section. You have to prepare Basic Computer Terms and usage, generations,  applications of hardware and software, shortcut keys of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

General Awareness :  Mainly this section will be based on Current Affairs only. Preparing for last six months current affairs is enough to get good marks. There is no banking awareness in this section. But as you are going to write the assistants exam of RBI which is India's Central Banking Institution, its advisable to learn the basic details and functionalities of RBI and other financial organizations like NABARD, Basic banking terms and last but not the least the budget of 2014-15

What about Study Materials ?
Well, we are presently working on them Friends. You can get complete set of study materials by this weekend.

That's all for now friends. And an Important thing you should keep in mind is, the syllabus of RBI Assistants, National Insurance Assistants and upcoming SBI Clerks is almost same. So if you study hard you can surely will clear any of these exams (three birds at one shot). After all we are here to help you  if you have any doubts. All the Best :)

    1. As far as I know there wont be any bond for Nationalized banks Neha. They will ask you to sign a bond on the day of document verification itself. If they dint ask then they never gonna ask you for bond.

In worst case even if there is a bond, you can break that by paying some amount (25k aprox in the case of RRBs). So better prepare well and do well in the exam. All the best.

  13. Mam, I Have one Doubt..why Non-verbal reasoning is Not given In online exams?
Coming SBI Clerk Is online Or Of-line???

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There is no specific reason fr that Sravan. May be they might have been thinking that its difficult to locate errors in diagrams...

And SBI is going to be offline as its not connected with IBPS.

    2. acc to me in non-verbal pictures are also used.. n it may be take time to load.. dat is why they not give nv ..
