Britain's First and only Woman Prime Minster
Margaret Thatcher, has died after suffering a stroke, her family has announced today's morning (Monday 8th April 2013). She is 87 years old (13 October 1925 – 8 April 2013). Thatcher led Britain from 1979 to 1990. She is the first woman to hold the job and longest-serving prime minister of the postwar era.A Soviet journalist called her the "Iron Lady", this nick name became associated with her uncompromising politics and leadership style.

“It is with great sadness that Mark and Carol Thatcher announced that their mother Baroness Thatcher died peacefully following a stroke this morning,” Lord Tim Bell, the spokesman, said today .
Queen Elizabeth II was sad to hear the news and planned to send a private message of sympathy to the family, Buckingham Palace said.
