International Current Affairs
- Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is on a 3 day visit to US.
- During this visit, Khan is scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday.
- The cricketer-turned-politician arrived aboard a commercial Qatar Airways flight and is staying at the official residence of the Pakistan's Ambassador to the US, Asad Majeed Khan.
National Current Affairs
- Protection of Human Rights (Amendment) Bill, 2019 introduced in Lok Sabha by Union Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah has been passed by Lok Sabha.
- The Bill amends Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993 that provides for National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), State Human Rights Commissions (SHRC) and Human Rights Courts.
MOUs & Agreements
- US-based aerospace and defence company Lockheed Martin has signed MoUs with 3 Indian startups - Terero Mobility, Sastra Robotics, and NoPo Nanotechnologies.
- They will integrate with Lockheed's supply chain, and contribute to the evolution of aerospace and defence industry.
- The startups were identified through the India Innovation Growth Programme (IIGP).
Science & Technology
- The 20-hour countdown for India’s second lunar mission Chandrayaan-2 began this evening at the national spaceport at Sriharikota.
- India’s most powerful booster, GSLV-Mark-Three, will take off at 2.43 hrs in the afternoon tomorrow, carrying the high-stake Chandrayaan-2 probe from the second launch pad of the space station. ehearsal made by the ISRO today has found that all mission parameters are normal.
- The 978 crore rupees worth mission would propel India as the fourth country ever in the elite club of nations having their own probes soft landing on the moon.

Deaths
- Senior Congress leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit (81) passed away.
- Dikshit was the longest serving Chief Minister of Delhi, serving for a period of 15 years from 1998 to 2013.
- Former Delhi BJP President Mange Ram Garg (82) passed away.
- Garg was elected to the Delhi Legislative Assembly in 2003.

- President Ram NathKovind appointed New governors for 6 States namely UttarPradesh, MadhyaPradesh, Bihar, WestBengal, Tripura and Nagaland. They are :
- Uttar Pradesh - Anandi Ben Patel
- Madhya Pradesh - Lal Ji Tandon
- Bihar - Phagu Chauhan
- Nagaland - R. N. Ravi
- Tripura - Ramesh Bais
- West Bengal - Jagdeep Dhankhar
- 1999 Gujarat batch IAS officer, Ajay Bhadoo has been appointed as Joint Secretary to President Ram Nath Kovind.
- He is currently serving as the Vadodara Municipal Commissioner.
- Amit Burman has been appointed as the new Chairman of FMCG major Dabur India replacing cousin Anand Burman, who stepped down as a director and Chairman.
Awards & Honors
- Indian bodybuilder Ravinder Kumar Malik has clinched Mr. South Asia title.
- He has crowned the overall champion at 12th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship in Kathmandu yesterday.
- A total of 91 bodybuilders participated in the championship organised by South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation under the auspices of Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Association.

- India's 19-year-old sprinter Hima Das won her 5th international Gold in 19 days after winning the 400-metre race by clocking 52.09 seconds at an international meet in Czech Republic today.
- She won her 1st competitive 200-metre race of 2019 on July 2 at Poznan Athletics Grand Prix, followed by 200-metre golds at Kutno, Kladno and Tabor meets.
- Wolverhampton Wanderers defeated Premier League champions Manchester City to claim the Premier League Asia Trophy 3-2 in a penalty shootout in Shanghai today.
- 4-time Asian Championships medallist Shiva Thapa won India's first Gold at 2019 President's Cup boxing tournament after getting a walkover in the final in Kazakhstan today.
- India's Asian Games 2018 silver in 4x400 mixed relay is set to be upgraded to Gold after Bahrain's Kemi Adekoya was handed a 4-year ban by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for failing a dope test.
- Adekoya had also won the 400m hurdles gold at the Asian Games with India's Anu Raghavan finishing fourth, who will be upgraded to bronze.
- Algeria won the Africa Cup of Nations football championship for the second time after beating Senegal 1-0 in the final today.
