10 Nationalized Banks get new MDs & CEOs

The government today appointed new Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers (MD &CEO) for 10 state-owned banks. Five of them are currently working as Deputy Managing Directors at State Bank of India (SBI). The appointments of these 10 heads were given the nod by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • Mrutyunjay Mahapatra, Deputy MD of SBI has been appointed as the new MD & CEO of Syndicate Bank. He will be in the post till 31st May 2020.
  • Padmaja Chundru, who is also the Deputy MD of SBI has been appointed as the new MD & CEO of Indian Bank. She will be in the post till 31st August 2021.
  • Pallav Mohapatra has been appointed as the MD & CEO of Central Bank of India.
  • J Packirisamy is the new MD & CEO of Andhra Bank.
  • Karnam Shekhar has been appointed as the new head of Dena Bank.
  • SS Mallikarjuna Rao, Executive Director of Syndicate Bank has been appointed as the MD and CEO of Allahabad Bank for a period of three years. His tenure will be extendable up to the date of his superannuation, i.e. January 31, 2022.
  • AS Rajeev, Executive Director of Indian Bank has been named MD and CEO of Bank of Maharashtra for an initial period of three years, extendable up to two years following a review of his performance.
  • Atul Kumar Goel and S Harisnakar have been appointed MD and CEO in UCO Bank and Punjab & Sind Bank respectively. Goel is the Executive Director of Union Bank of India and Harisankar is the Executive Director of Allahabad Bank.
  • Ashok Kumar Pradhan who is the Executive Director of United Bank of India will be MD and CEO of the same.
