  • Bankruptcy - a situation in which a business or a person unable to pay what they owe
  • Yield - to produce something useful such as information or evidence
  • Wrinkle - a small problem
  • Roll out - to introduce a new product or service
  • Refurbish - to improve something
  • Resolution - the action of solving a problem or dealing with a disagreement in a satisfactory way
  • Insolvency - a situation in which a company or person does not have enough money to pay what they owe
  • Major - important / main
  • Tribunal - a special law court organized to judge a particular case
  • At the behest of someone - because someone has asked for something or said it must happen
  • Ease - to make or become less severe, difficult, unpleasant, painful, etc
  • Proceeds - money that a person or organization makes from selling or winning something, or from organizing an event or activity
  • Acquisition - the process of buying something or obtaining it in some other way
  • Outstanding - an amount of money that is outstanding has not yet been paid
  • Liability - the amount of money that a company owes
  • Unwise - not sensible
  • Nevertheless - despite a fact or idea that you have just mentioned
  • Defaulter - someone who does not pay interest or other money that they owe, or who fails to do something that they should do by law
  • Considerably - by a notably large amount or to a notably large extent; greatly
  • Recapitalisation - if a company recapitalizes or is recapitalized, it gets more capital or changes the way its capital is organized
  • Wealth-creation - the act of making a country, group, or person richer and more successful
  • High-profile - often seen in public, mentioned in newspapers, or appearing on television
  • Deflect - to direct criticism, attention, or blame away from yourself towards someone else
  • Plague - to cause a lot of problems for someone or something for a long period of time
  • Subsume - to include something in a larger group and cause it to lose its own individual character
  • Plethora - a greater amount than you need or want
  • Streamline - to improve a business, organization, process etc by making it more modern or simple
  • Bidder - someone who makes bids for something, for example at an auction
  • Bogged down - to be/become so involved in something difficult or complicated that you cannot do anything else
  • Creditor - a person or company that is owed money by another person or company
  • Vouch for something - to say that something is true, correct, or good based on your own knowledge or experience
  • Amendment - a change made to a law or agreement
  • Robust - strong and successful
  • Amid - if something happens amid particular feelings or events, it happens while people have these feelings or while these events are happening
  • Sweep - to win something easily
  • Conjecture - the development of a theory or guess based on information that is not complete
  • Hearing - a meeting of a court of law or official organization to find out the facts about something
  • Opposition - a person, team, business, or group that someone is competing against
  • Tier - one of several levels in an organization or system
  • Bag - to get something before other people take it
  • Semblance - a situation in which something only appears in a small amount
  • Outperform - to do something better than someone or something else
  • Proportion - the relationship between two or more quantities or parts of a whole
  • Tailored - made for a particular purpose, situation, or need
  • Rural - relating to the countryside, or in the countryside
  • Infrastructure - the set of systems within a place or organization that affect how well it operates, for example the telephone and transport systems in a country
  • Paid off - if something that you do pays off, it brings you some benefit
  • Upbeat - happy and positive because you are confident that you will get what you want
  • Defensive - intended or used for protecting a place during an attack
  • Allege - to say that something is true or that someone has done something wrong or illegal, even though this has not been proved
  • Defensiveness - behaviour intended to defend or protect
  • Unprecedented - never having happened or existed before
  • Run-up - to make something very quickly
  • Lumpen - of low social class and stupid or not educated
  • Accuse - to say that someone has done something wrong or committed a crime
  • Foment - to encourage people to have angry feelings or to protest or fight

  • Ferocity - violence or extreme force
  • Oust - to remove someone from a position of power, especially in order to take that position
  • Run a tight ship - to control something such as an organization or institution in a very strict and effective way
  • Incompetence - lack of skill or ability to do something correctly or well
  • Unsettled - something such as a problem or argument that is unsettled has not been dealt with successfully
  • Ambition - something that you very much want to do, usually something that is difficult to achieve
  • Dislodge - to force something out of its position or out of the position where it is fixed
  • Vocal - someone who is vocal expresses their opinion frequently and strongly
  • Ended up - to be in a particular place or state after doing something or because of doing it
  • No-holds-barred - without any limit on what you are allowed to do
