Friends, the Nobel Season for the year 2017 started with the announcement of the Winners for Physiology / Medicine for the 108th time. Three American scientists Jeffrey Hall (The University of Maine), Michael Rosbash (Brandeis University), and Michael Young (The Rockefeller University) have been awarded with this year's Nobel Prize for Physiology / Medicine 2017 for their discoveries on the molecular mechanisms controlling circadian rhythms – in other words, the 24-hour body clock.

Jeffrey C. Hall, Michael Rosbash and Michael W. Young were able to peek inside our biological clock and elucidate its inner workings. Their discoveries explain how plants, animals and humans adapt their biological rhythm so that it is synchronized with the Earth’s revolutions,” the Nobel Foundation said.
