Topic 1 : "Making A.P. special"

  • Bifurcation - the division of something into two parts
  • Modality - a particular way of doing or experiencing something
  • Mandate - to give official permission for something to happen
  • Terrain - an area of land
  • Socioeconomic - related to the differences between groups of people caused mainly by their financial situation
  • Infrastructural - related to the basic physical and organizational structures and facilities (e.g. buildings, roads, power supplies)
  • Backwardness - the state of not being developed
  • Eventually - at the end of a process or period of time in which many things happen
  • Emphasis - the particular importance or attention that is given to something
  • Road map - a plan for how to achieve something
  • Reorganisation - a change in the way that something such as a company is organized, in order to improve it
  • Oral - spoken but not written
  • Valid - legally accepted
  • Imminent - coming to happen very soon
  • Irrigation - the process of supplying land with water so that crops and plants will grow
  • Crutch - something that provides help and support and that you depend on too much
  • Stimulus - anything that encourages something to happen, develop, or improve
  • Circumstance - a condition that affects a situation
  • Alliance - an arrangement between two or more people, groups, or countries by which they agree to work together to achieve something
  • Sell-out -  a situation in which someone does something that is the opposite of what they had promised or that seems to be against their principles
  • Perhaps - used for saying that you are not sure about something, or that something may or may not be true
  • Anticipating - to guess that something will happen
  • Look ahead - to think about what will happen in the future and plan for these events
  • Lose sight of - to forget about your main aim because you are thinking too much about other things
  • Livelihood - (the way someone earns) the money people need to pay for food, a place to live, clothing, etc.
  • Concern - a feeling of worry about something
  • Legacy - something such as a tradition or problem that exists as a result of something that happened in the past
  • Laid the foundation of something - to produce the basic ideas or structures from which something much larger develops
  • Robust - strong and successful

  • Ratification - to make an agreement official by signing it or formally accepting it
  • Climate - the type of weather that a country or region has
  • Emission - something, especially a gas, that goes into the air
  • Momentum - progress or development that is becoming faster or stronger
  • Compact - smaller than most things of the same kind
  • Beyond - outside
  • Emphasised - to give particular importance or attention to something
  • Acceded to something - to agree to do something
  • Accord - a formal agreement
  • On board - as part of a group or team, especially for a special purpose
  • Landmark - a major event or achievement that marks an important stage in a process and makes progress possible
  • Departure - an occasion when someone leaves a job or an organization
  • Binding - (an agreement) that cannot be legally avoided or stopped:
  • Treaty - an official written agreement between two or more countries
  • Protocol - a set of rules for the correct way to behave on formal occasions
  • Emerging - just beginning to exist or be noticed
  • Reliant - depending on someone or something
  • Stipulating - to say exactly how something must be done
  • Voluntary - done without being forced or paid to do it
  • Verifiable - able to be proved
  • Differentiated - to see or show a difference between things
  • Underpin - to be an important basic part of something, allowing it to succeed or continue to exist
  • Framework - a system of rules, ideas, or beliefs that is used to plan or decide something
  • Convention - a large formal meeting of people who do a particular job or have a similar interest
  • Contrary - completely different or opposed to something else
  • Reaffirmed - to formally and officially state something again
  • Trillions - a very large number or amount of something
  • Ratification - the official way to confirm something
  • Pointer - something that shows the development or progress of a situation
  • Distinct - separate and different in a way that is clear
  • Scaling up - to increase the size, amount, or importance of something
  • Renewable energy - energy that can be produced as quickly as it is used
  • Predicated on - depended on
  • Trajectory - the way in which a process or event develops over a period of time
  • Accelerate - to make something happen at a faster rate
  • Following up - to do something in addition to what you have already done, in order to be sure of achieving your aim
  • Assurance - a promise
  • Catalytic - causing a chemical reaction to happen more quickly
  • Upgradation - the process of improving the quality or usefulness of something
  • In parallel - at the same time
  • Intensive - involving a lot of effort, energy, or attention
  • Mandatory - compulsory (ordered by a law or rule)
  • Initiate - to make something start
  • Imperative - extremely important or urgent
