Let's have a look at some more words with di prefixes, for better understanding.
- divide = to separate into two or more parts
- dilemma = a situation which poses two or more difficult choice
- digraph = = to vowels written together and making one sound
- digest = break down (food) in the alimentary canal into substances that can be absorbed and used by the body
- dilate = to (cause a part of the body to) become wider or further open
- division = the act of separating something into parts or groups
- dichotomy = a difference between two completely opposite ideas or things
