ab, abs - away; from; not
Let's try to understand this with some examples....
Word Analysis
- abnormal (adjective) = away from the normal

- normal - Root = ordinary / usual
- absent (adjective) = not present in something (to be away from something)
- This word came from absentia (a Latin word), present participle of abesse.
