  • Strongman - a person who is very powerful and able to cause change (especially of a political type)
  • Rivalry - competition for the same objective or for superiority in the same field
  • Stalwarts - loyal, reliable, and hard-working supporters
  • Materialise - happen
  • Transition - the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another
  • Legislature - the group of people in a country or part of a country who have the power to make and change laws
  • Step aside - to leave an important job or position, especially to allow someone else to take your place
  • Graciously - pleasantly and politely
  • Albeit - although
  • Persuasion - to make someone do or believe something by giving them a good reason to do
  • Massive crowds - large group of people 
  • Exigencies - the difficulties of a situation, especially one that causes urgent demands
  • Necessitated - make something necessary as a result
  • Relinquishing - to give up something
  • Quintessential - being the most typical example or most important part of something
  • Tiers - levels
  • Hotbed - a place or situation where a lot of a particular activity, especially an unwanted or unpleasant activity, is happening
  • Cadre - a small group of people specially trained for a particular purpose or profession
  • Geniality - the quality of having a friendly and cheerful manner
  • Mass appeal - something that a large number of people like
  • Backbone - the main support of a system or organization
  • Dissent - a strong difference of opinion 
  • Threats - warnings to cause you damage or danger
  • Spat - a short argument (usually about something that is not important)
  • Facilitated - make something (an action or process) easier
  • Ineptness - without skill for a particular task
  • Surge - a sudden and great increase
  • Watchdog - a person or organization responsible for making sure that somebody / something obey particular standards and do not act illegally
  • Stint - a fixed or limited period of time spent doing a particular job or activity
  • Hard-nosed - practical and determined (tough-minded)
  • Averse - having a strong dislike of or opposition to something
  • Big-ticket - expensive 
  • Harmoniously - friendly and peacefully
  • Retaining - to keep or continue to have something
  • Momentous - of great importance
  • Comprehensive - including or dealing with all elements of something
  • Alliance - a union or association of political parties formed for mutual benefit
  • Verdict - judgement
  • Incumbency - the period during which someone has a particular official position
  • Perhaps - used to show that you are not certain about something
  • Ally - someone who helps and supports
  • Plank - an important principle on which the activities of a political group are based
  • Safeguarding - protecting
  • Indigenous - native (naturally existing in a place or country rather than arriving from another place)
  • Immigration - the action of coming to live permanently in a foreign country
  • Slow pace - slow speed
  • Frontier - a border between two countries
  • Campaign - work in an organized and active way towards a goal
  • Usher - to guide
  • Convener - a person whose job it is to call people together for meetings of a political party
  • Requisite - necessary or needed for a particular purpose
  • Credentials - qualifications
  • Dogged - very determined to do something (even if it is very difficult)
  • Scrapping - to not continue with a system or plan
  • Perceived - become aware or conscious of something / come to realize or understand something
  • Hindrance - a thing that limits the development of something
  • Detection - to discover something
  • Deportation - to force someone to leave a country, especially someone who has no legal right to be there
  • Regarded - considered
  • Enterprising - good at doing new and difficult things (especially things that will make money)
  • Insists - demands something forcefully
  • Prosperity - the state of being successful and having a lot of money
  • Preserved - to maintain something in its original or existing state / to keep something as it is
  • Onus - something that is one's duty or responsibility
  • Barb-wiring - covring with steel fencing wire
  • Pressing - requiring quick or immediate action or attention
  • Minefields - areas that contains mines (bombs)
  • Mosaic - contains many small groups
  • Diversity - the fact of many different types of things or people being included in something
  • Temper - the tendency to become angry very quickly
  • Rhetoric - speech or writing intended to be effective and influence people
  • Virtually - nearly / almost
  • Conflated - combined two or more groups into one
  • Reassure - say or do something to remove the doubts and fears of (someone)
  • Narrative - a particular way of explaining or understanding events
  • Tapestry - complex sequence of events
