    5. can any1 explain its stepwise solution??
Q:A and B working separately can do a piece of work in 9 and 12 days respectively. If they work for a day alternately,A beginning,in how many days the work will be completed??

      ANS: 10 1/4 days

      PLZZZ...help:(

      ReplyDelete
    6. first take lcm of 9 &12 it is 36
      so total part is 36
so A completes 4 parts (36/9) in one day
similarly B completes 3 parts (36/12) in one day
      1st day A completes 4parts
      2nd day B 3parts
      3rd day A 4
      4th day B 3
      5day 4
      6dat 3
      7 day 4
      8 day 3
      9 day 4
      10 day 3
till now we get 35 parts(out of 36parts)
remaining 1 parts is to be complete by A out of 4parts only one part is needed so (1/4)
      hence ans is 101/4

      hope u understand

    7. A+B=1/9 + 1/12= 7/36.
      Work done in 5 pairs of days = 7/36 * 5 =35/36.
      Remaining work =1-35/36
      =1/36.
      Work done by A on 10th day= 1/36
      Next work start with A= 1/36* 9
      =1/4.
      Total A's work = 10 1/4 days

    8. A=9 days ; B=12 days

      L.C.M of A&B is 36

      A B A+B

      4units 3 36

      If A started: A+B=7 units

      i.e., in 2days = 36/7 =5units and 1 remaining

      5units *2=10 days + as A begins therefore,1/4 days

Hence, if A begins total no. of days =10 ¼

    11. Let Total work =100
In one day A completes' 1/9*100=11.11
      B =100/12==8.33
first two days A and B together will complete= 11.11+8.33==19.44
      we need 100%, so 19.44*(5)=97.20
so A, B together works for 10 days and completes 97.20% work, to complete the work we need another 2.80 %. And now the turn is A's.
In one day A completes 11.11% work, but we need 2.80% only...
so A need only 1/4 th of the day.
total days to complete the work is 10 1/4 days.
Note: Think in % percentages, you will take only 30 seconds to solve the problem.

    12. To solve these type of problems first learn the ratios... 100/1,100/2,100/3,.... Upto 100/50... It will be very useful in DI also

      ReplyDelete
    13. It seems tough to understand at the first sight, but once you get the concept of percentage U can solve problems like... Boats and streams, speed and distance, time and work many problems... Underlying concept is Percentage... Work on percentage concept
