IBPS PO IV Interview Experience

Hey Friends, Avinash Kumar here. I attended IBPS IV PO Interview yesterday (19th Jan 2015) at Raipur [CG] and it went quite well. So I'm sharing details of my interview experience.

Panel I 

Time - 8:30 am

 Venue - Hotel Venkatesh International, Raipur

Document verification started at 9 am.

Around 12:15 pm I entered....

Panel - 5 Members including a lady

I wished them and M1 asked me to Sit down.


As I'm a Commerce Graduate, I  knew well in advance "Mera Toh band bajega aaj" as most of the people came for interview were from Engineering background. I was also the last Candidate to be interviewed by Panel I.

M1 - First Question with a smile Suppose you are a branch Manager, A  new businesman visits your branch seeking big loan . what majors things will you look for before sanctioning loan?

Answered they were satisfied, Suddenly M4(Lady) interrupted and asked How will you assess his Credit Worthiness?
I answered.

M1 again - If I Stamped on your back  " I'm very good at everything" toh apko kya lagta hai isse kya message jaega ?
Mahn I answered somehow.

Then M1 took AK-47
M1 - DBT Scheme? PAHAL
What do ARC's do ? I answered
What is Indian Coinage Act  and when it came into existence?
I answered

M2 - What is Intangible asset ? Name some.
I answerd and M1 Interrupted and asked you said Goodwill, I said yeah, what is Goodwill and Is it really important for firms to have Goodwill, Can't they sustain without it ? What does say an amount of 5.5 crore as Goodwill in balance sheet actually denotes ?

M3 - beta tumne balance sheet to dekhi hogi toh ye batao balance sheet me "loss' kahan show karoge ?

I said Sir Loss in Balance sheet okay..Argued and then looked satisfied, mahn then all three M1,2,3 debated with certain adjustments in B/S.
I answered and they gave a stern look and then smiled.

M5 (Youngest of all and Jamm ke class li isne bhi ) -
Have you heard about FRBM Act ? I read it somewhere so answered though forgot
What is Subprime crises?
I answered
What is Project Financing?
What are the sources of finance?
I answered.

M3 - What is economics all about?

M4(Lady)- Your Hobbies?

I answered.

M1 again - Why you opted for PNB as your first choice? Where its HQ? Who is the CMD?
I answered.
Recently Heads of banks and MoF and RBI officials paricipated in "Banker's Retreat"?
Where it held and why they met?
I answered .

Finally M1 said Okay, You can leave.
Phew! Huge Relief I  thanked them and left.

    i had a call to ibps regarding obc certificate , they replied those who are not having obc certificate as per notification ( before 01/09/2014 ) will not be allowed for interview

    ALL THE BEST avinashji, iam also a commerce graduate and i cleared ibps clerk exam i have one doubt one of the panel member asked you what is project financing what is your reply to that question,and when did you complete your degree,i think this question for mba finance students will you please give me reply.

    banker's retreat (gyan sangam) recently concluded in Pune. Attended by PM, RBI Including other important dignatories. they discussed on various agendas like universal financial inclusion,
    using technology & digitalisation to improve banking operations efficiency
    improving risk management, asset quality, its recovery
    consolidation & restructuring of public sector banks for better efficiency
    less political interference in their decison making = demanding autonomy
    strong redressal mechanism for borrowers, rising NPA's (bad loans) blah blah.

    banks can run a credit report on their clients (plus fee based options also available like credit reporting agencies), ask them to lay out major facts related to their business like nature,size,cost,capital and risk associated with it, check references, banks can ask upfront payment or a substantial deposit etc

    truly speaking i opted for pnb aivahe,i told them i hv no particular reason why i opted for it ,he(M1) asked so are you comfortable with other banks ?, I said yeah sir, but i go thru well with d details related to first 3 choices i marked.

    thanks mahn Panel umm I must say they won't let you feel nervous inside d room :)
    be calm & stay relaxed, no need to worry if u hv prepared well, they asked me 85% ques frm my academics..so prepare well your subjects plus recents banking developments.
    and they asked me one more question to say n write "Monetary Policy" in Hindi :s It's Mudra Sfiti yojana. i don't know whether i wrote correctly or not but all laughed

    profit is a liabilty as we have to pay them to shareholder thats y profit lie in liability side (reserve and surplus) whereas loss is a asset of company as it actually secure future benefit or ease us the liabilty of distribution thats y we show in debit side of balance sheet

    i have put wrng date of passing and % ..my date of passing is 16june 2014 and i have put 15th june 2014 and % is 74.34 i have put 76 ..what should i do pls help im in big trouble

    passed out in 2013, finance ws my specialiation so M5 asked question related to Project financing wid an example... so i answered it deals with hw to prepare the financial plan, assess the risks, work out financing mix and raising funds relating it wid examples of construction projects, infrastructure n industrial projects linking it with(BOT - built operate transfer method). dunno he ws satisfied or not but nodded his head saying okay

    how can you made sch a blunder u rounded off 74.34 to 76... big differnce as per their norms...
    well u knw during verification they're nt tallying marks or percntages so it myt nt be a prbm during interview but im nt sure also as verification process at some places very strict ......so kindly contact ibps

    actually our university revised the result and i did not have my marksheet at that time when i filled the form cz we got our marksheets in september thats why i did this mistake where was ur intrview?

    Yup they're asking for original documents, but they might allow you to appear in interiew with provisional certificates. They will ask you to submit an undertaking regarding this.

    Browse ibps site and check your marks (If not selected for interview). Selected ones will have to wait till the completion of whole recruitment process.

    Me too have the same problem. I wrongly entered my percentage in the application form 75 instead of 74.
