National Affairs
  • The union government today launched a modified scheme for direct transfer of subsidy benefits to domestic users of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
    • The scheme, launched across 54 districts in 11 states including all in Kerala in the first phase, this will be extended to rest of the country by 1 January 2015.
  • The NDA government was framing a new education policy to remove existing loopholes and give maximum and easy access to better education to all sections of the society, Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani said today.
  • The Kerala government today moved the Supreme Court seeking its direction for lowering the water level in Mullaperiyar dam which has risen to 140 feet and order Tamil Nadu government to frame guidelines for releasing water.

  • Chris Parsons, a 53-year old British lawyer will undertake a 1260 kms walk starting Gateway of India in Mumbai to Bengaluru via Goa, Mangalore and Mysore in 30 days to raise $1 million (approximately Rs 6.1 crore) for improving the lives of Indian widows and children.
  • Reliance Foundation chairperson Nita Ambani has donated over Rs.11 crore (Rs.111,111,111) for relief works in cyclone hit Andhra Pradesh.

  • India successfully test-fired its nuclear-capable Dhanush ballistic missile from a naval ship off the Odisha coast.  
    • The surface-to-surface Dhanush, a naval variant of India's indigenously-developed 'Prithvi' missile, was test fired from a ship in the Bay of Bengal at around 7.40 PM by the Strategic Force Command (SFC) of the defence force.
  • Uber taxi services introduces wallet-based payment system in India in the wake of recent regulations, according to which all transactions need to pass through domestic payment systems.
  • Microsoft has announced a browser based version of Skype that will allow users to make audio and video Skype calls on any system.
  • China today successfully launched a new remote sensing satellite, Yaogan-23 into scheduled orbit that will help in scientific experiments, natural resource surveys, crop yield estimates and disaster relief measures.

  3. Dear Friend If you are preparing for several bank exams frequently,then there is no need to prepare for that separately.By the way BOB card recruitment is not a regular one.Its only an outsourcing job.Anyway all the best.
