  • Today (10th November 2014) is World Science Day.
    • To raise awareness of benefits of science, World Science Day for Peace & Development also known as World Science Day to be observed worldwide.
    • This year's theme for world scienceday is "Quality Science Education : ensuring a sustainable future for all"
  • The African Union, African Development Bank and regional business leaders have set up a crisis fund of USD 28 million to help areas hit by the Ebola outbreak, the AU said in a statement.
  • The chairman of Anjuman Minhaj-e-Rasool, an Islamic organization working for peace and communal harmony, has said that if given a chance the residents of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) would love to join the Union of India.
  • Chinese President Xi Jinping and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe have met on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Conference (APEC)-their ice-breaking dialogue confirming a thaw in ties, which at one time threatened to spin dangerously out of control.
  • External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is on three day visit to UAE (United Arab Emirates).
    • This is her first official visit to UAE.
    • During this visit, she will hold discussions on bilateral, regional and other issues of mutual interest.

  • Eminent Hindi poet Dr Kedarnath Singh has been conferred with 49th Jnanpith Award for his outstanding contribution towards Indian literature.

  • Finance minister Arun Jaitley said the government will amend the land acquisition law to make it friendlier for economic development and suggested that the NDA may press ahead with changes even if the opposition does not lend its support.
  • A Delhi court fixed the 19th of next month for hearing final arguments in the 2G spectrum allocation scam case.
    • The case involves former Telecom Minister A Raja, DMK MP Kanimozhi and 15 others.
    • The CBI has alleged that there was a loss of 30,984 crore rupees to the exchequer in allocation of 122 licences for 2G spectrum which were scrapped by the Supreme Court on 2nd February in 2012.
  • Bringing cheer to female make-up artists, the Supreme Court today put an end to a 59-year old practice in Bollywood that puts restrictions on them from pursuing the profession in the film industry, saying such "shocking" discrimination on the basis of gender is violative of constitutional values.
  • The Supreme Court today refuses to entertain PIL on naming India as 'Bharat'
    • The Apex Court said that a representation should be made before the authority concerned.

New Govt Schemes
  • In a move aimed at benefitting over a crore pensioners, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched 'Jeevan Pramaan - Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners'.
    • The proposed digital certification will do away with the requirement of a pensioner having to submit a physical Life Certificate in November each year, in order to ensure continuity of pension being credited into his account.

    eight friends raju, akbar ,birbal,phani,kevin,vineel,lavish,simon are from diff continents asia,africa,and europe and they speak diff language bari,andoke and chimila .atmost three and atleast two persons belong to each continent .at least two and atmost three persons speak each language .no two persons fromsame continent speak same language .lavish is from africaand speaksbari language.raju and akbar are from same continent but the continent is not europe .birbal and phani speak same language but not chimila.phani and the person who speaks bari are from same cintinent but it is not africa .lavish and birbal speaks diff language .only two persons beling to africa .simin is not from asia but speaks andoke .vineel and lavish speak same language .kevin and vineel are from same continent .the person who speaks chimila are not from africa.akbar speaks chimila .lavish and simon are fron diff contine
