# SBI PO 2014 Cutoff Analysis

Friends, I am Abhishek Reddy, an SBI PO aspirant. Following is my analysis of this year's SBI PO Online Exam explaining the cutoff! Hope it will help you clearing your doubts.

For people who are concerned about cutoffs and difficulty, I will share a simple logic based on which you can get the basic idea about the cutoffs! though many websites have already put cutoffs for all categories.... I will try to provide a rationale behind it! I will do this by comparing this year's paper with previous year paper! and I disclaim that this may not be true but I hope it will be 90% true atleast!

English in 2013 was little bit less time consuming than this year and we can put both the papers' difficulty on same standard! So, the number of questions attempted in English this year would be same as last time!

General Awareness was easiest among all and it will be same as last year!

Coming to Logical Reasoning, a proper person who is well prepared would have attempted atleast 5 to 10 more when compared to 2013 due to following reasons!
1. Puzzles were relatively difficult this time
2. Time consuming
3. And most of the people try to do logical reasoning at the end thinking DI is more scoring (which isn't the case this year)
Now comes the giant killer, Data Interpretation! last year I know people who attempted 50 on 50 and scored more than 45! This year scoring more than 25 would be a dream come true! DI this time is heavy time consuming and were indirect unlike last year!

so a total of 10 (in logical reasoning) and 20-25 at least in Di will be solved less than previous year!

Last year for descriptive paper to be corrected cutoff was 108 and this time it will be 30 less! so around 80 will be the cutoff!

Descriptive paper correction will be tough in SBI PO and a perfect paper might fetch u good marks around 35 to 40! so combining all the factors cutoff might be around 80 +30=110!

One of the main reason behind attempting less questions would be due to online paper! so people who gonna attempt exam in coming weeks should try to solve around 120 to 130 questions with 90% accuracy or more than 105 with 100% accuracy in order to see their name In interview list!

Cutoff might increase or decrease but as far I think it will hover around 120 (+-5)/250 may be!

1. Really nice observation

1. final cut off is ok. but for qualifying in the descriptive test, only 18 and above is needed, not 30. THe final cur off might be 110.

2. Nice evaluation...

3. Bilkul sahi observation hai 100% right :-)

4. Very good analysis..

5. Hi.....SBI also calculate marks like IBPS in weightage method?

6. Here at last, 120-130 is referring to out of 250 or out of 200? Someone clear it out.

1. It is out of 250

2. 120/250 dumbo...see everythng mentioned in above

3. out of 250..

7. bhai tommorow is my SBI PO exam plz let me know..... the signature of a gazzeted officer is mandatory on id proof photo copy

1. No need of gazzeted officer sign. You have to sign on your photo copy.

8. good prediction bhai....

9. Bro you also got to factor in the increase in number of applicant , time saved in filling the circles(around 5-7 mints) and increase in knowledge because of consciousness of growing competition and indentation of internet and proliferation of exam blog. My assessment is that if last year cut of was 151/250 this year it will be around 140-150/ 250.

1. All these factors negate the things which online provides us such as making Di more difficult to interpret, takes time to read in small fonts , u can't take time to glance the whole paper! online has many disadvantages than positives

2. i also think so....120 out of 250 to kam hai....but it is possible that he might be right...but these marks are not sufficient for final selection( to be in a good position for interview)...for that you had to be around 140

10. I heard that the valuation would be in SD not each question 1 mark as its not mentioned anywer in the notification

11. This analysis could be wrong. The Biggest point is there are ONLY 1798 vacancies all over INDIA. So just passing the cutoff is not sufficient. Only those with good marks in written + interview will be selected. I think from 250 , students with 145 oe above will have chance in interview.
<<< SAURAV >>>

1. my analysis might be utterly false saurav! I just gave my interpretation ! but don't u think 145 is way above the mark

2. nothing like that.... stop demotivating others....

3. LOLS....You cant change the fact dude. Dont take it negative , I'm only talking facts.

4. Hey Abhi !
Seem like you do not get my point. First of all I'm not saying that your analysis is wrong. My point is there is no advantage of getting close to cut off marks. I agree Cut off could be around 120 ( like you predict) but the student ( who will get appointed as PO ) with the lowest marks will be 145 or above out of 250. ( I'm not counting the interview marks in this). I hope now you get my point. Cheers :)

12. What will be the cutoff foR DI

13. ok: Iam also agreed that. but please tell me the cutoff for obc and other candidates

14. I would like to differ with u on 1 point which is the number pf possible attempts in D.I. being 20-25, this is really not right and even if it is possible, then 35-40 attempts is not possible in G.I in a single session. FOOD FOR THOUGHT!!!!!

15. cut off for oc candidates

16. u guys are such a stupid ......i think paper was too easy and i done my exams very well ... and after self analyzing i got 178 marks in mcq .

1. when was ur exam?? In each sec how much u attempted?

2. Tune thoda kam keh diya, tere to 200/200 aayenge aur SBI wale tere ko ghar se le ke jayenge.

3. bhai 4 section clear kar payega kya?

17. what will be probable cut off marks for GEN-OH candidate?

18. Congratulations!! I am pretty sure to see your name right at the top of the selected candidate list!! but we here are talking about the overall competition and not the top 10 ranks...#Anonymous June 27, 2014 at 12:33 PM

19. what about sectional cut off in di?

20. this year DI was lengthy, reasoning was time consuming..and the exam was online for the first time ...so the cutoff should drop at least 20 marks than last year....85-90 out of 200 and 110-115 out of 250....

1. ekdam sahi bhai . i fully agreed

21. for everyone, who are wondering that cut off should be 110 or 120, let me remind you, last year the cut off was 80/200 for general category and 70/200 for reserved for the 1st phase exam.
individual sectional cut offs were 10, 13, 13, 16 for general and 10,12,12, 10 for reserved.
cut off for 2nd phase was 20/50 for general, no idea for reserved.
So total cut off was 100/250 for general.

If this year's questions were difficult which everyone is whining about, then how can the cut off be 120(+5)???

1. last year cut off was 108/200 in MCQ section

2. ur absolutely correct... but are there any chances of sectional cut off getting lowered....?? specially DI Cut offs...!!! i attempted 122 in all with almost 80-90% accuracy
35+ in all sections but
just 8 in DI - 100% accuracy
any chances of getting through...??
pls help...

22. Bhaiyo lst year se pahle bhi sbi ka exam hota tha nd 110 hi tha cutoff this year i think it will be beetween 100-105
exam was very tuff compaing with last year

23. Cut-off will be =>115 and <=123 out of 250.DI section was a killer this time.

24. Attempted 135/200
with 80 % accuracy
Is there any chance of getting call for interview?

25. abey result kab ayga thak gya wait kartey kartey
