Dear SBI Clerks aspirants, as we promised earlier, yesterday we posted the topic wise distribution of questions and study plan of general awareness section  for SBI Clerks online exam 2014 (read that post here). Today we are giving you the same of Quantitative Aptitude section. The aptitude section of SBI Clerks is easy when compared to SSC CGL, IBPS and SBI PO Exams. If you already prepared / have been preparing for those exams, then clearing aptitude section of SBI Clerks will be a cake walk for you. There will be no tricky / twisted questions. All questions will be of formula based, if you know the formula / process you can get the answer in seconds, or else you should leave that question and switch to the next. Now lets see the topics and study plan.

What to prepare for SBI Clerks 2014 ?

As you might already have observed from the Syllabus of SBI Clerks online exam 2014, you should prepare the topics like basic mathematical operations, simplifications, squares, cubes, square roots, cube roots, percentages, decimals, averages, LCM & HCF, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, Partnership, Time & Distance, Speed & Distance, Number Series, Time & work, Mixture & Allegation, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Data Sufficiency and Data Interpretation etc.

Now let's have a look at the topic wise distribution of questions from previous years' SBI Clerks exams. Below graphs shows the name of the topic along with the marks details.
Important Points to note :
  • From last 10 years they are not asking questions from LCM & HCF. But its better to have a basic idea on thees topics.
  • You can expect 2 questions from Profit & Loss, Discount and Partnerships.
  • You will hardly get 1 question from Mensuration. They asked one time in last 10 years (to find the area of rectangle). As the syllabus of mensuration is huge and confusing, you can leave this topic if you don't have enough time.
  • Usually they don't ask Data Sufficiency questions for clerical level. But they have asked this for 5 marks last year.

How to prepare ?
As we have stated above, the difficulty level of the questions will be very low. You will get maximum number of questions (10 to 15) from simplifications. So you should practice more on basic calculations, BODMAS rule, speed improvement techniques, short cut techniques for addition, multiplication, subtraction and divisions, square, square root and cube, cube root short cut techniques etc. You should prepare all the basic formulas of percentages, averages, profit & loss, speed & distance, simple & compound interests etc. Simply knowing the formula is not enough. You should work with example problems, so that your brain will get used to each and every formula and its applicability. The cutoff will be around 15 to 20 marks. But merely getting the cutoff marks won't help you fetching the job. You should get maximum marks to stand out from the competition. The more you practice, the more chances of winning. All the best :)
