Friends, I am Ramandeep Singla from sangrur district of Punjab..I completed MBA with specialization finance in 2010...since then i am engaged in family business..at the same time i continued to give exams to get government job but without preparation...When the notification of IBPS PO 3 was out, I realized that i have to crack this exam at any cost as i am approaching 26 years and it is already 4 years passed since i have completed my MBA...so i started to prepare for this PO exam 1 month before the exam date.

My Preparation Strategy :

I am good at Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and English. So for these sections i just worked with some practice sets to increase my speed..

For computer section,i read book containing around 1500 objective type questions related to basic computer knowledge which i think was more than sufficient..

Next and last section is general awareness..although i am ok in this section and i also has the habit of reading newspapers and watching news channels but you can't take risk because to crack ibps exam you have to get pass in all sections...S o i read daily gk updates published by gr8ambitionz ..Friends, it helped me a lot and most of questions were from it's Quick Reference Guide.

My approach in the IBPS PO Exam

Now coming to the exam day.. as per the tips given by gr8ambitionz i allotted fixed time to each section in the following manner.
  • for Computer Knowledge - 5 mins
  • for General & Banking Awareness - 10 mins
  • for Aptitude and Reasoning sections - 40 mins each and
  • for English - 25 mins...
I started with Computer then General Awareness section and completed it in 15 minutes..after this i solved English section in 25 minutes (this section was difficult but i was sure that i would get 15 marks) now i came to reasoning section..after 40 mins i was able to solve 33 questions and i left it there...now 39 minutes were left i went to maths section and i solved 26 questions in that time..

Friends i have secured 104 marks in written and 68 in interview which make combined score of 55.20...

With the blessings of god, hard work put in by me and tips and study material provided by gr8ambitionz.com,  I am successful in getting job as PO in Punjab National Bank which was my 1st choice bank..

In last, I will like to thank gr8ambitionz for providing very valuable study material specially gk updates and tips to follow at the exam time…Without their help, it would be impossible to crack this difficult exam with such a high score…

My Advice :

My advice to all banking job aspirants, don’t lose hope, prepare well..it is not that you have to study for 8-9 months to crack this exam…you can crack it after preparing for 1 or 2 months(daily 2-3 hours) but with full concentration..

Again thanks very much to gr8ambitionz and best of luck to all bank job aspirants.

    1. You will surely get it in the second round. Coz at least 10 - 13% allotted in the first round would not take it up due to various reasons (like better options in other competitive exams, posting at different state/region... but am not sure when IBPS will come out with the second list . Got to wait !

    1. Hi am a working professional based out of Bangalore, generally used to solve a couple of online mock tests on weekdays (evenings/nights) for quant, verbal reasoning and a bit of computer basics . On weekends would review the topics i faced issues during mock tests and prepare these topics well. Used a couple of sites for GMAT and CAT but www.mrunal.org is simplest and coolest of all.Did this for about 4 - 6 weeks . Scored 81 in written test and 70 in interview ( total 46.4 on 100). Have provisionally been allotted in PNB.

If i had any queries regarding any quant/reasoning approach used to refer www.mrunal.org/aptitude . Its not rocket science just pratice .
