Hi Friends this is Akhilesh Kumar from Madurai district Tamilnadu. I have completed B.E., in EEE in april 2013. I got selected in IBPS PO III and got Canara Bank as this was my first preference, Here I want to share my preparation strategy towards the examination.....

My Role Model :
My father Mr .P.Tamilarasu was my ROLL model, he was an ex-serviceman, as he got retired in 2009 September and from the time he started preparing for banking examinations for more than a year, but he got rejected in many examinations  and finally he got selected as Clerk in CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA in December 2011 at the age of 48. During his preparation we discussed a lot about banking and i helped him in aptitude & reasoning. As i was an engineering student i was quiet good in Aps.....
So I have decided my future towards banking while doing the final year and start solving more and more aptitude problems....

My Initial Preparation :
After the official announcement by IBPS, i have started my regular practice towards the examination, i have started practicing aptitude and reasoning daily without missing a day, i have purchased BSC and Banking and U magazines from which i gathered current banking awareness and i solved the model question papers in that magazines, i have purchased IBPS PO book from kiran publication and with the help of the cd in that book i have practiced online examination mode....

Time Allocation in PO Exam
I have allotted a fixed time for each sections in a clear order

  • English - 25 Mins
  • Reasoning - 30 Mins
  • G.A - 15 Mins
  • Computers - 10 Mins
  • Aptitude - 40 Mmins
I had also used the same pattern for practice.....

English
In English you have to read the comprehensions, jumbled sentence & cloze test, so you need to have a fresh mind to read it completely, so my approach is to complete the section in the beginning.....

Reasoning
Reasoning is the high scoring section in this type of examination, out of 50 questions we need to crack atleast 20 to 25 questions in 30mins, my advice is to do the syllogism first and then the others as this was the easy way to earn 5 marks in 2 to 3 mins....

General Awareness
Read the news paper daily and the defn of bank rates, history of banking, books and authors, award winners and about BSE , NSE....
Refer magazines like BSC, Banking and U and Gr8 website....

Computer Awareness
Refer the computer awareness in the websites like gr8, it is very usefull for the preparation, this section also used to secure good marks and also to reduce time....

Aptitude
And finally the aptitude section which is a very crucial, in order to crack this section one should has a regular practice. So keep practicing and improve your skills, try the shortcuts and quicker maths regularly....

My Interview

After the written examination result has announced i had start preparing for the interview, i regularly visit gr8 website and collected materials towards interview and also visited youtube to know interview procedures, i have tried lot of mock interview, my father also conducted me mock interviews and i regularly practiced in a closed room, that really gave me lot of confidence and helped me to succeed in the interview....
Friends don't underestimate the interview, it is also an elimination process, attend lot of mock interviews before the interview and also see your body language by practicing in front of mirror.....

My Advice for the Future Aspirants :

Friends in order to achieve in this type of competitive examinations you should believe in yourself and you should have to plan for the examinations & keep regular practicing, its not on scoring high marks, is to clear the sectional cutoff so planning is more important
to crack the exam, at any time of your life does'nt lose your hope.....
This year also there is more vacancies in PO, I wish all the aspirants to succeed in the exam.
As i am the fan of Sachin Tendulkar, i conclude with his words
                                       "Nothing is Impossible"
                                                                                                 Thank You
                                                                                            T. Akhilesh Kumar
