- Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Integration of Republic of Chad Moussa Faki Mahamat, made an official visit to India on 12-13 August 2013. Moussa Faki Mahamat meeted Salman Khurshid, external affairs of India during his visit.The main objective of the visit is increasing bilateral cooperation between the India and Chad.
- Former Bengal all-rounder Cricketer and Coach Kalyan Mitter passed away on 16 August 2013 in Kolkata. He was 79.
- UNICEF will conduct a nationwide survey on child trafficking in India.
