IBPS Regional Rural Banks Office Assistants (Clerks) Exam Syllabus

Friends, in our last post we have discussed the detailed syllabus of IBPS RRB Officer Scale I Recruitment Exam. In this post we shall discuss the syllabus of IBPS RRB Clerks (Office Assistants). As we've already mentioned in our previous post, the syllabus of both the IBPS RRB POs and Clerks are same, but the difficulty level varies. Lets first discuss the pattern of the exam later we shall discuss the difficulty level and syllabus. This time the exam is going to be online. This exam consists of the following sections. Each sections consists of 40 Questions . You should solve them in 2 hours and 30 minutes time.
  1. Reasoning                             ----------    50 Marks
  2. Numerical Ability                ----------    50 Marks
  3. General Awareness               ----------    40 Marks
  4.  English / Hindi Language (You can choose any of these according to your state)
    1. Hindi Language                     ----------    40 Marks
    2. English Language                  ----------    40 Marks
  5. Computer Knowledge           ----------    20 Marks

Syllabus IBPS RRB Bank ExamsDifficulty Level of the Exam : The IBPS RRB Office Assistants / Clerical Exam is the most easiest exam among the all exams conducted by IBPS (IBPS POs, Clerks / IBPS RRB POs, Clerks / IBPS Specialist Officers, RRB Specialist Officers). In most of the cases you will get direct questions, there are less chances for getting twisted questions. So if you work hard, you easily can good marks in this exam.
Now lets have a look at the detailed syllabus of Office Assistants (Multipurpose) Exam.
Numerical Ability : As you might have already observed , for Officers Scale I, II and III they have mentioned Quantitative Aptitude. But for clerical they've mentioned it as Numerical Ability. Whats the difference? For Quantitative Aptitude they mainly focus on concepts but for Numerical Ability they just check your basic calculation skills. So you will get more questions from simple maths.

    • Square Roots
    • Cube Roots
    • Decimals
    • Percentages
  • Time and Work
  • Time and Distance
  • Ratio and Proportions
  • Mixture and Allegation
  • Number Systems / Series
  • Profit and Loss
  • Simple Interest and Compound Interest
  • Probability
  • Partnership
No Data Interpretation will be there for Clerical Level. 

Reasoning :
  • Introduction
  • Series Completion
  • Analytical Reasoning
  • Classification
  • Coding Decoding
  • Blood Relations
  • Direction Sense
  • Logical Venn Diagrams 
  • Syllogisms
  • Number, Ranking & Time Sequence Test
  • Decision Making
  • Series
Pay less attention on Non Verbal Reasoning.

Computer Knowledge

  • Basic Hardware and Software, 
  • Uses of Computer
  • Generations of Computer
  • Basic Computer Operations / Shortcut Keys
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
 
English Language
  • Reading Comprehension (Simple Level)
  • Spotting Errors
  • Sentence Correction
  • Sentence Completion
  • One Word Substitution
  • Synonyms
  • Antonyms
  
Hindi Language
  • Only native hindi speakers choose this section. So, your basic Hindi knowledge is enough to get good marks in this section. So, don't waste much time on this area.
  • You should concentrate on the following areas
    • Passage (Gadyansh - गद्यांश)
    • Synonyms (समानार्थी शब्द)
    • Antonyms (असमानार्थी शब्द)
    • Checking mistakes in व्याकरण, भाषा, वर्तनी
    • Filling the given Blanks with suitable words

General Awareness

  • For Current Affairs you should concentrate all important events occured for last 6 months (excluding 15 days before the exam). 
  • You should concentrate on
    • Summits
    • New Appointments
    • Deaths
    • Visits / Visitors
    • Days 
    • Books and Authors
    • Important Events
    • Countries / Heads / Currencies 
  • For Banking Awareness you should focus on (basic knowledge is enough)
    • History of Banking
    • Banking Terms

    I am from Delhi. I want to know that which language should be given more preference for RRB Scale-I exam as I am comfortable with both the languages. Will Hindi be better choice as it is related to rural areas?
