Some times, you have to  convert or express the given percentages in the form of decimals. It is not such a difficult task as we think. Have a look at the following.

1% = 1/100 = 0.01   (if two zeros are given, just move the decimal pointer two places left)
2% = 2/100 = 0.02 = 1/50 (the simplification of 2/100)
3% = 3/100 = 0.03
4% = 4/100 = 0.04 = 1/25
5% = 5/100 = 0.05 = 1/20
6.25% = 6.25/100 = 0.0625 = 1/16
7% = 7/100 = 0.07
7.5% = 7.5/100 = 0.075
10% = 10/100 = 0.1 = 1/10
12.5% = 12.5/100 = 0.125 = 1/8
20% = 0.2 = 1/5
21% = 0.21
25% = 0.25 = 1/4
30% = 0.3 = 3/10
33.33% = 33.33/100 = 0.3333 = 1/3
37.5% = 0.375 = 3/8
40% = 0.4 = 2/5
50% = 0.5 = 1/2
60% = 0.6 = 3/5
62.5% = 0.625 = 5/8
66.66% = 66.66/100 = 2/3
75% = 0.75 = 3/4
80% = 0.8 = 4/5
87.5% = 0.875 = 7/8
100% = 1
125% = 1.25 = 1 1/4
150% = 1.5 = 1 1/2
200% = 2

    1. make the decimal "hop"
since there are 2 0s,hop the decimal from its current position to next-to-6
      hop it again to next-to-2.
      so we get 62.5

      and thats the answer.

  4. i like the 'decimal hop' technique, its easy to use wen one is able 2 visualize it.i mean shifting the decimal by the number of places which is equal to the number of zeros,to left or to the right depending on wether we are multiplying or dividing.
    like,
6.25 * 100=625 means we will hop the decimal 2 times(as number of zeros=2) to the right(as we are multiplying)
62.5/100=0.625 means we will hop the decimal 2 times(as number of zeros=2) to the left(as we are dividing)

    1. any way X%means X/100 So
      12.5% = 12.5/100=>0.125
      33.33%= 33.33/100=>0.3333
      and is also same...........
