  • Road map - a plan or set of instructions that makes it easier for someone to do something
  • Casteism - discrimination based on caste
  • Nepotism - the practice of using your power and influence to give jobs to people in your family instead of to people who deserve to have them
  • Dwell on something - to spend a lot of time thinking or talking about something unpleasant
  • Demonetisation - to officially stop using particular notes or coins, or a particular currency
  • Inexorably - impossible to avoid or prevent
  • Transparent - open and honest, without secrets
  • Mainstream - considered ordinary or normal and accepted or used by most people
  • Embrace - to put your arms around someone in order to show love or friendship
  • Communalism - loyalty or commitment to one's own ethnic group rather than to the wider society
  • Lynch - to kill someone by hanging them by the neck, even though they have not been proved guilty of any crime
  • Echo - to express the ideas or feelings that someone else has expressed
  • Compassionate - feeling sympathy for someone who is in a bad situation because you understand and care about them
  • Discriminate - to treat someone unfairly because of their religion, race, or other personal features
  • Invoke - to make someone feel a particular emotion or see a particular image in their minds
  • Surgical strike - a military attack, especially by air, that is designed to destroy something specific and to avoid wider damage
  • Capability - the ability to do something
  • Commend - to praise someone or something formally or publicly
  • Stand-off - a disagreement or fight in which neither opponent can do anything to win or achieve their aim
  • Domestic - relating to the country being talked about, and not other countries
  • Reliance - the state of depending on a particular person or thing

  • Merger - the process of combining two companies or organizations to form a bigger one
  • Ally - someone who is ready to help you, especially against someone else who is causing problems for you
  • Faction - a small group within a larger group, consisting of people with different opinions from the rest
  • Dominance - a situation in which one person or thing has more influence or power than any other
  • Seemingly - in a way that appears to have a particular quality, even though this is probably not true
  • Irrelevant - not important or not relevant to what you are discussing or doing
  • Legislature - a group of people who are elected to create laws in a particular area
  • Assertive - having or showing a confident
  • Shepherding -  to take someone to a place that you want them to go to
  • Resolution - a formal proposal that is considered by an organization and is usually voted on at a meeting
  • Rescind - to state officially that something such as a law or an agreement has ended and no longer has legal authority
  • Retrieve - to get something back
  • Unlikely -  not likely to happen / true
  • Hesitant - doing something slowly or pausing before you do it, because you are nervous, embarrassed, or worried
  • Breakaway - consisting of people who have decided to separate from a larger group
  • Ambition - something that you very much want to do, usually something that is difficult to achieve
  • Probe - an attempt to find out the truth about an issue, problem, or accident
  • Pelf - money
  • Distrust - to not trust someone or something
  • Mediate - to try to end a disagreement between two people or groups
  • Wield -  to have and be able to use power or influence
  • Enforcement - the process of making sure that something happens, especially that people obey a law or rule
  • Cosy up to somebody - to be very friendly to someone with the hope of getting an advantage
  • Foothold - a position from which you can improve your status or become more successful in an organization, profession, or market
  • Eat into something - if an activity or cost eats into your time or money, it uses more of it than you intended
  • Isolating - to separate something such as an idea or a problem from others
  • Tainted - spoilt by an unpleasant feature or quality
  • Domineering - trying to control other people and make them obey you
  • Overestimating -  to consider something to be better than it really is
