  • Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to oversee operations of Kattupalli Port in Tamil Nadu.
  • Ahead of the climate change summit in Paris later this year, India has pledged to curb its greenhouse gas emissions by up to 35% by 2030 from the 2005 level.
  • An Indian short film, An Old Dog’s Diary, has won the best short film award at the 2015 London Film Festival (LFF).
  • Belarusian writer and journalist Svetlana Alexievich? has won the 2015 NobelPrize? for literature.
  • Cabinet approves agreement between India & Egypt on Maritime Transport, for cooperation on merchant shipping & maritime related issues.
  • Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral R K Dhowan was on a visit to Australia for Six-days to consolidate existing maritime cooperation initiatives, as well as explore new avenues.
  • China has successfully launched Tianhui-1C, a third mapping satellite of the Tianhui-1 series into its designated orbit. 
  • China’s Xuerui Li defeated P V Sindhu to win the Women's Single title in Denmark Open 2015
  • China's Chen Long defeated Tommy Sugiarto in the final to win the Men's singles title in Denmark Open 2015.
  • Chinese President Xi Jinping and British Prime Minister David Cameron signed a number of investment agreements including one to finance nuclear power stations in Britain.
  • Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has established the world’s Highest Terrestrial Research Centre near Pengong Lake at Changla in Ladakh.
  • Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), India’s military research and development organization, has decided to rename its missile complex in Hyderabad after former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, bestowing an honour to one of the country’s most popular scientists.
  • External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj visited Male, during which, she along with her Maldivian counterpart Dunya Maumoon co-chaired meeting of the India-Maldives Joint Commission.
  • Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has announced that the social network is planning to launch a satellite that will provide internet access to remote parts of Africa.
  • FIFA has suspended its President Sepp Blatter, Secretary General Jerome Valcke and Vice-President Michel Platini for 90 days.
  • Finance minister Arun Jaitley attended the G-20 finance ministers meeting at Lima in Peru.
  • Following the Reserve Bank of India’s decision to issue licenses to 11 payments banks, Mahindra Comviva, which has a 25 per cent market share in the global mobile money market, has announced that it is entering the Indian market to provide the technological solutions and infrastructure to the payments banks in India. 
  • From January 1st next year, there will be no requirement of interview for Group D,C and B non-gazetted posts in central government.
  • Geeta, the deaf-mute Indian woman living in Pakistan after accidently crossing the border over a decade ago, arrived in India.

  • In a landmark judgement, the Supreme Court has upheld the Collegium system of appointment of judges and has struck down the constitutional amendment that introduced National Judicial Appointments Commission (NJAC).
  • In a major modification to the National Blood Policy, blood banks will now be able to borrow units from one another in case of a shortage.
  • India & Jordan sign 6 MoUs in various fields including Agreements on Maritime Transport, Communication and Information Technology and Cultural exchange.
  • India and Germany have signed 18 agreements and Memorandum Of Understanding (MoUs)  to fast-track business approvals and make arrangement to make it easier for German companies to operate in India.

  • India and South American nation Ecuador signed an agreement to set up a Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) to strengthen the trade relations between the countries.
  • India has finally surpassed China in Cotton production and emerged world’s largest cotton producer in the season ended September 30, 2015.
  • India ranked as the most attractive investment destination in the world for the next three years.
  • Indian Archer Deepika Kumari has also won Silver medal at the Archery World Cup in Mexico city.
  • Indian Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi selected for the prestigious Harvard Humanitarian of the Year Award 2015.

  • Iran's parliament approved the country's nuclear deal with world powers, paving the way for the historic agreement curbing Tehran's atomic programme to take effect and for sanctions to end.
  • Leader of the Liberal Party, Justin Trudeau elected as Canada's new Prime Minister.
  • Lewis Hamilton wins Russian Grand Prix Title
  • Luis Leao Pinto of Portugal has won 2015 MTB Himalaya Title, Asia’s premier mountain biking race for the second time in the Solo Men’s category.
  • Manila-headquartered Asian Development Bank (ADB) will help finance the increased transmission capacity of the cross-border electricity link between India and Bangladesh.
  • Marlon James, a Jamaican novelist has won the prestigious Man Booker Prize 2015 for his novel "A Brief History of Seven Killings"  inspired by attempted assassination of Bob Marley in 1970s.
  • Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton won his third Formula 1 World Championship to become only the second British driver after Sir Jackie Stewart to achieve the feat.
  • Micro blogging site Twitter has appointed its co-founder and interim chief executive officer (CEO) Jack Dorsey as permanent CEO for second time. 
  • Nation observed 111th Birth Anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on 2nd October 2015.

  • Odisha Government has launched citizen portal www.citizenportal-op.gov.in to facilitate citizens with various services.
  • One of India's greatest music composer A. R. Rahman has been named the cultural ambassador of Seychelles.
  • P S Jayakumar, the former chief executive of VBHC Value Homes, took charge as the new MD and CEO of the state-owned Bank of Baroda for three years.
  • Pakistan and Russia signed a major agreement to build a 1,100-kilometre gas pipeline from Lahore to Karachi at an estimated cost of $2 billion, a collaboration that is expected to take ties between the two Cold War-era adversaries "to a new level".
  • Pakistan withdraws from the Asia Cup for blind cricketers to be held in India next year, claiming threats to the security of the players due to the protests faced by visiting Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials.
