Meet the new Chairman of Axis Bank - Rakesh Makhija

Rakesh Makhija has been appointed as the new Non - Executive Chairman of Private Sector Lender Axis Bank. He is going to replace the current chairman Sanjiv Mishra, who is going to retire on 17th July 2019. He will be in the post for 3 years.

Makhija is currently working as the Chairman of SKF India Ltd, a leading bearing and seal manufacturing company. He also a Director on the board of Tata Tech, Tata Marcopolo Motors and ATREDS, and has been an Independent Director on the board of Axis since October 2015.

The appointment is subject to the approval of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the bank's shareholders.
